Brief introduction of Dacheng Temple

Dacheng Temple is located in the middle of Yutang Street, under Wang Feng, with a yellow wall, which is particularly eye-catching. Originally from Mao Peng, in the fourth year of the Republic of China (A.D. 19 15), Qing Xiang, a monk of Huiji Temple, contacted overseas Chinese to raise funds and changed the temple into a branch of Huiji Temple. Mahayana Buddhist Temple has two buildings with a building area of 2,836.74 square meters and 74 temples. Tongyuan Temple is dedicated to Guanyin Bodhisattva, surrounded by Manjusri Bodhisattva and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva. Then there is the reclining Buddha Hall, where the reclining Buddha is the nirvana statue of Sakyamuni. The Buddha statue is 7.6 meters long, with his right hand lying on his pillow and ear, and his expression is serene. In the center of the temple, there is also a white jade reclining Buddha statue in Myanmar. There are thousands of Buddha statues on the upper floor of the reclining Buddha Hall, all carved from high-quality camphor wood. A couplet on the top of a thousand buddhas is very interesting. The couplet says: "A thousand words can't be separated from life and death, and Buddhism can only be transformed into enlightenment and mystery." Put people's life and death and the maze of Buddhism and Taoism in easy-to-understand terms.

Dacheng Temple, located in the middle of Yutang Street, is the highest temple in Putuo Mountain in terms of area. The "Shuiyue Guanyin Statue" enshrined in its main hall-Tong Yuan Treasure Hall can be said to be the best of Guanyin Bodhisattva Statues. Shuiyue Guanyin is one of the 33 Guanyin, which is famous for its gorgeous clothes and beautiful posture. It is also called Mona Lisa in the East or Venus in the East.

The nirvana of Buddha Sakyamuni is enshrined in the reclining Buddha Hall behind the Mahayana Buddhist temple. The Buddha statue is 9 meters long. According to the imitation of the jade Buddha in Myanmar, it looks very peaceful and represents the highest state of Buddhist nirvana. On the upper floor of the reclining Buddha Hall is the Thousand Buddha Building, which contains 1000 jade buddhas invited back from Myanmar by mountain monks. The whole Antang is spacious and bright, with winding corridors, and receives thousands of Chinese and foreign believers and tourists every year. Incense is flourishing and tourists are weaving.
