After reading The Fantasy Journey of the Shepherd Boy

This is a book I finished reading in July, and I have been reminiscing about its deeper and more systematic significance in bits and pieces.

The hero is a boy named Santiago. His parents originally wanted him to be a priest in the church like many boys and live a stable life, but San Diego wanted to travel around and learn about the world. Parents to persuade invalid, finally father said:

In the comfort zone, he often had the same dream when he slept in the shabby church. In the dream, a little boy wanted to take him to a place called the pyramid, where treasures were buried.

He came up with the idea of chasing his dreams. Looking for a gypsy fortune teller, I later met the king of Salem who knew the truth and strengthened my determination to find my dream. Sell the sheep and go on the road. Clever and cautious as he was, he was cheated out of all his money by a young man at the first port. He began to doubt his dreams and miss the comfortable life of herding sheep.

Learning from the painful experience, he must survive first. He found a crystal shop at the top of the mountain and offered to help the boss clean all the crystals in the shop. Later, in order to change a meal, he stayed to work, gave full play to his marketing potential, and helped his boss to do business like never before, earning enough money to go home and buy sheep.

On the morning of leaving, he heard the voice of King Salem again, and he didn't want to go back. He once again set foot on the road of chasing dreams, followed the caravan that had supplied the crystal shop to the long desert, experienced the wind and sand all over the sky, and finally arrived at an oasis, where he met an alchemist who could help him reach the pyramid. The alchemist also recognized his destiny, and they were about to cross this desert full of war together, but fortunately, he met true love. The girl said, you must complete your mission, and I will wait for you here. Love will never stop a person from pursuing his destiny. He doesn't want to go on the road. Before reaching the pyramid, he almost died, but it was also when fighting against terror that he heard the voice of the universe and gained more growth ability, which is the value brought by adversity.

At last, he saw the pyramids. At that moment, he was overjoyed. Finally, he succeeded in realizing his dream.

He was beaten and robbed by a group of refugees when he was looking for treasure.

It was from the ridicule of the refugees that he found the real treasure, that is, the church that made him dream of coming to the pyramid. He was very happy. When he came to the shabby church with a shovel, he really dug up a lot of treasures.

The wind is blowing, and he is going to marry his true love with the treasure.

This dialogue of boys following the trend is the core of the whole book. Some people are content to be priests all their lives. Some people want to travel around and herd sheep, but also feel happy; Some people go to the oasis and feel that they can enjoy this life; Some people climbed the real peak, saw the magnificent life, saw the stormy waves, and were fortunate enough to return to the origin of life and enjoy the mountains and rivers.

At the moment, he is a little afraid to go back to the sheep. He is familiar with all the Yuan Ye and pastures in Andalusia and knows the fair price of each sheep.

He knows every sheep well: he knows which one is lame, which one has a calf two months later, which one is the most unwilling to leave, and he also knows how to shear sheep and kill them. If he decides to leave, the sheep will suffer. Facing the sheep and the treasure, the boy is now in a dilemma. He must choose between what he is used to and what he wants.

I left my father, my mother and the castle in my hometown. They are used to it, and so am I. Sheep will get used to it without me, the boy thought.

This is the struggle of the boy before jumping out of the comfort zone. We can't do the same thing and get different results. Pierce the vault, let go of historical achievements and jump into new challenges. This time, life will be again, which will be rich in experience.

The boy took a fancy to a sword. When he turned around, his new friend disappeared without a trace.

Many things are destroyed out of courtesy. I remember a play about how to destroy a cult. A rescued woman was asked in an interview how she got into a cult. She said that she was walking in the field when a man drove by and asked her if she wanted to give her a ride, so he got on the bus. The reason is "I'm sorry to refuse each other's kindness!" Therefore, each of us should set principles for ourselves. Under what circumstances, what is the bottom line in order to protect your personal and property safety? Be clear.

I learned something from sheep and crystals, he thought. I can also learn from the desert. I think the desert is more vicissitudes and wiser.

All the sufferings in the desert didn't kill the boy's initiative in learning. He can always learn something useful from everything he meets. This subconscious mind of active learning should be the instinct of people who travel everywhere. If you don't take the initiative to learn, you will be at a loss if you encounter risks again, and you will suffer. Those who stay in the comfort zone for a long time will have solidified their thinking and vision, and it is difficult to have such external driving force. Therefore, suffering is not wealth, but reflection on suffering. Adversity has its own value, but it depends on how you treat it. Break the fear of difficulties, take the first step and take on more, and your heart will be strong. Real strength is honed in things, and theory only plays a guiding role and will not help you become strong.

You will find life in the desert, stars in the sky and soldiers fighting, because war is a part of human life. Life is a festival, a grand celebration. Because life is always and only the moment we are experiencing now. "

A camel driver, a man who has never read a book, has crossed the desert again and again, and realized the true meaning of life so thoroughly that he can live in the present to the greatest extent.

Compared with the boy's impatience, the camel driver must do what he knows what to do, and he will get what he deserves. Only by fearing the law can we make better use of it. Thinking of many happy or sad things, or important activities to be attended the next day, will make you unable to eat and sleep, which will not only help, but will consume the energy of the next day and have a counterproductive effect. I need to sleep at present, so I must sleep, not happy or sad.
