Fingertip numbness may be caused by the following reasons: the first common reason is cervical spondylosis of nerve root type, which is numbness of middle finger and fingertip caused by cervical disc herniation or cervical hyperosteogeny pressing or stimulating nerve roots. The second common reason is that the fingertip of middle finger is numb due to the stimulation of radial nerve of brachial plexus. At the site where the radial nerve runs, any stage of injury can cause pathological changes of the nerve, thus leading to numbness of the fingertip of the middle finger. The third common cause is fingertip numbness caused by peripheral neuritis.
