Brief introduction of Chaoyang Temple

Chaoyang Temple, Guangshan County, Xinyang City, Henan Province, is located in the commercial market of Chaoyang Temple on Xianshan South Road, covering an area of 520 square meters, with 4 brick and wood houses/kloc-0, front hall, main hall and left and right wing rooms. It is impossible to verify its construction date. According to the Records of Longguangshan County in Qinggan County, in the forty-seventh year of Kangxi (A.D. 1708), monks in Wu Tong were rebuilt. Its architectural design is exquisite, with three halls and one living room, covering tens of acres. Before the outbreak of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, temple fairs were held on the 16th day of the first month every year, with more than 10,000 participants, which was a great success. Later, due to the war, the ancient temple was dusty.

In recent years, the United Front Work Department of Guangshan County Committee has vigorously implemented the national policy of freedom of religious belief, implemented religious real estate, resumed the external religious activities of Chaoyang Temple, and made the ancient temple glow again. At present, the temple has begun to take shape. There are three halls in Daxiong, which are simple and spectacular, and three halls in Guanyin. Siheyuan is clean and beautiful, with morning bells and drums and Brahma singing. It is an ideal place for quiet practice. 1980 was announced by Guangshan county people's government as a county-level cultural relics protection unit. Key protected areas: Take the outer wall around the temple as the baseline and extend to the surrounding area by 50 meters.
