In which temple is Wutai Mountain seeking marriage?

Fan Xianshan, known as "Little South Terrace", is one of the four peaks of Wutai Mountain Terrace. "Liang Qingshan Zhi" says: "There were 500 immortals in ancient times, and chrysanthemums were lured into the Tao." There is a temple on the mountain called "Fan Xian Temple", probably because it is very effective to ask Buddha for divination. This temple is also called "Ling Ying Temple". The temple is east-west, covering an area of1092m2.

According to the inscription in the temple, Fanxian Temple was built in Hongzhi period of Ming Dynasty and rebuilt in Qing Dynasty. Different from other temples in Wutai Mountain, Fanxian Temple is a temple where Buddhism and Taoism blend, and others are Buddhist temples.

According to legend, a long time ago, Fanxian Mountain was still desolate, but it was full of purple gas and clouds. When a group of Taoist priests passed by, they took this place as a place of practice and became a Taoist temple. Later, Buddhism flourished in Wutai Mountain, and Fanxian Temple was invaded by Buddhist culture, gradually becoming a temple with both Buddhism and Taoism, and also becoming a unique symbol of Buddhism and Taoism culture in Wutai Mountain.

Buddhist activities in Wutai Mountain

1, jump Buzha

Tiaobuza, which originated in Tibet, is an important Buddhist activity held by Huangjiao in Wutai Mountain around June 15th of the lunar calendar every year. On the day before the event, the lamas in the temple began to recite Hokkekyo, dance the vajra dance and "kill ghosts" on the top of Bodhisattva.

They drew circles on the spot, followed by circular steps, supplemented by body movements. Through this activity, we can drive away evil and usher in an auspicious and peaceful era.

2. Mule and Horse Congress

It is held every year in June of the lunar calendar, during which large-scale Buddhist activities, folk cultural activities and mule, horse and livestock trade conferences are held. The activities of Chaohui are rich, one of which is that monks from all directions gather in Taihuai Town to do Dojo and recite scriptures, which makes Wutai Mountain full of mysterious religious colors.
