The Symbol of Chengdu —— A Brief Introduction of Sun God Bird

The gold ornaments of the Sun Bird are round and extremely thin. The pattern is hollow, and the inner layer has twelve rotating tooth lights; The outer pattern consists of the heads and feet of four birds connected back and forth. The device vividly reproduces the myth that the sun was lost in the sun, and four god birds flew around the rotating sun, which reflected the strong worship of the sun and birds by ancient people and was the representative of the brilliant achievements of gold technology in ancient Shu. On August 16, 2005, the golden ornament of "Sun Bird" officially became the symbol of chinese heritage. Legend of Roots: A long time ago, there was an ancient and mysterious tribe in ancient Shu-Jinsha, where birds were singing and flowers were fragrant and the seasons were like spring. There is very rich, people live and work in peace and contentment, and live a happy life.

But one day, the sun suddenly disappeared, and the whole Jinsha was dark. People were very anxious, so they asked the four elders to look for the sun.

On the first day, four elders came to a forest and began to look for the sun. They saw the moon, and the moon gave them a box and told them that the sun had been taken away by the hateful wizard, and the things in this box could not be used until they met the wizard. When the moon finished speaking, the four elders went on their way again.

The next day, four elders came to a high mountain and saw the star. The star gave them a cloth bag, saying that they had to open it before they could open the moon's treasure box. When the stars finished, the four elders went on their way again.

On the third day, they came to the Jinsha River and saw the wizard and the sun. They immediately opened the bag containing the stars, and two strong golden lights shot into the wizard's eyes. The wizard was suddenly blinded by pain. Seeing this, the four elders immediately opened the box of the moon and saw four golden ropes jumping into the hands of the four elders. Four elders threw golden ropes at the wizard from four directions: southeast and northwest. The wizard is bound and can't move.

The damn wizard was subdued and the sun was saved. In order to prevent the sun from being hurt again, the four elders became four beautiful birds of the sun, which always protected the sun, and the sun also gave out twelve magical golden lights because of the protection of the birds of the sun, which became more beautiful and dazzling.

Seeing this unparalleled spectacle, Jinsha people also carved the gold foil of the "Sun God Bird" to commemorate the four elders, and made a large number of gold, jade and bronze wares ... and buried them in the soil, so that future generations will always remember this history.

Since then, the "Sun Bird" has become a symbol of Jinsha and the pride of Jinsha people!

The calendar used by the ancient Shu people, represented by the "God Birds of the Sun" unearthed in Jinsha Site, is similar to the calendar of the Central Plains region in the same period. It is a fairly complete calendar of yin and yang, with 12 or 13 months in a year and the concepts of leap month and four seasons.
