I. Origin of surname:

The first origin: from the family, from the fief of the descendants of Yao emperor in ancient times, belonging to the name of fief.

According to Zhou Jing's Chen Family Tree, "After Chen Weiyao, he was sealed in Luoyang, and there was Chen."

In ancient times, there was a great victory for the descendants of Emperor Yao, who led the army to advance the Jin Dynasty in Jiyijiu and restored the merits of the Zhou Dynasty. After Zhou Pingwang moved the capital in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, he got a piece of land called Yang Jiao (now Luoyang, Henan Province), so he took this feudal city as his surname and called it Chen Shi, from which the Chen Shi clan came into being.

At the end of the Western Han Dynasty, in the first year of Yongyuan in the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 89), Chen moved to Wututang, Jiangxi Province.
