Ciyun Temple, a national key temple, is a famous temple in China. Located at the foot of Lion Mountain in Tan Xuan Tang, Nan 'an District, Chongqing.

Ciyun Temple is backed by Tu Shan and comes from the Yangtze River. The scenery is very quiet and pleasant. Temple architecture is in harmony with the surrounding gardens and mountains, making the garden environment more beautiful and becoming a tourist attraction in Chongqing.

On the left side of the temple gate lies the stone carving of the green lion, facing white elephant street on the other side of the Yangtze River, which is known as "the white elephant of the green lion locks the river". Ciyun Temple was built in the Tang Dynasty and rebuilt in the Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty. It was Kannonji. Master Yunyan raised funds to expand and later renamed Ciyun Temple, which was the only Buddhist temple in China at that time.

The architecture of Ciyun Temple is a combination of modern European architectural art and ancient China architectural art, which is unique among the Buddhist temples in China. The main buildings in the temple are Daxiong Hall, Pu Xian Hall, Sanmiao Temple, Wei Tuo Hall and Eighteen pavilions.

There is a rare bodhi tree in the temple, which was transplanted from India 60 years ago and died during the Cultural Revolution. Unexpectedly, after 10 years, the bodhi tree miraculously revived, which surprised pilgrims and monks. Now it is booming.

Sakyamuni Buddha, located in the center of Daxiong Hall in the temple, is the treasure of Ciyun Temple. Height1.87m, weight1.500kg.. It is one of the four jade buddhas in China and is welcomed by Myanmar. There are four diamond-shaped buildings hanging in front of the Jade Buddha, on which are the full text of the Diamond Sutra, made of five-color gold thread, which is a magnificent sight.
