Zhao Liangshan was born in a poor family in a remote mountain village in the northeast, and his mother died when he was one and a half years old. When he was five years old, he had a stepmother who was very strict with him, and his father had been running around for years to make a living. Lonely, he digs wild vegetables, carries water, picks up coal and firewood every day ... One day when he was six years old, he heard the flute coming from next door, and was immediately moved by the sad melody of "Su Wu Shepherd" and "Meng Jiangnv", remembering his life experience and crying. When the old piper who heard the crying learned the reason, he handed the small flute he made to his hand and kept it with Zhao Liangshan. From then on, when Zhao Liangshan listened to his neighbor playing flute, he looked for opportunities to imitate it secretly.

"I can take the road of music, thanks to two people. In addition to this neighbor, it is the blind fortune teller who lives at the other end of my house. " Every day, the fortune teller plays the flute and walks around the house under the traction of a child. Zhao Liangshan was attracted by his pure northeast minor and chased him every day. When the fortune teller's family knew about it, they asked Zhao Liangshan to be the fortune teller's guide. Zhao Liangshan agreed. From then on, he reduced the time of digging wild vegetables to two hours, and listened carefully to the flute music he played while pulling the fortune teller for the rest of the time. After returning home, he eagerly imitated these songs from memory. It is these beautiful music that dilute the hardships of Zhao Liangshan's childhood.

1949 After liberation, Zhao Liangshan finally got the opportunity to go to school. After he was admitted to middle school, he began to make his mark on the county stage with his flute. Perhaps because of his persistence in music, in 1960, he stood out among 73 candidates in Shenyang test center and became the only candidate admitted by the Central Conservatory of Music, and then embarked on the road of learning wind instruments professionally.
