Brief Introduction to the Plot of the Opera Carmen

The play mainly depicts a beautiful and stubborn gypsy girl-Carmen, a female worker in a tobacco factory. She made Don Hauser, the monitor of the army, fall in love and abandoned his lover, gentle and kind Mikaela, in the countryside.

Later, Don Hauser was arrested and imprisoned for letting her fight with a female worker, and after she was released from prison, she joined her smugglers. However, Carmen later fell in love with the matador Escamilio. When people cheered for Escamilio's victory in the bullfight, she died by Don Hauser's dagger.

Performance information

20 10 the national grand theatre presented the French bizet opera Carmen, and met the audience again during the third opera festival. The Grand Theatre specially invited Chen Zuohuang, director of music art of the National Grand Theatre, to perform with the stars of the Western Opera House.

The biggest attraction of this performance, the National Grand Theatre, invited outstanding people to play Carmen in the world-class opera house for the audience in China.

The golden combination of mezzo-soprano Victoria Wiggin and tenor Brandon Joe Vanovic played Carmen and Don Jose respectively in the just-concluded Metropolitan Concert season. They will bring world-class opera performances to the National Grand Theatre.
