The story of governor Yangming

One day, a fellow villager came to Wang Yangming. This fellow villager is an elderly farmer, childless and unable to farm his own land, so he wants to sell his land to Wang Yangming for some pension money.

Wang Yangming refused rudely. "You are a farmer, and land is the lifeblood. If you sell it, you will die. "

Wang Yangming can't bear to let a man who has been a farmer all his life not see his land before he dies. So he gave the farmer a few taels of silver and sent him away.

A few days later, Wang Yangming and his disciples went to the mountains to play. Suddenly I saw a place with beautiful scenery and good feng shui, and I couldn't help but be intoxicated:

"If this land were mine, how wonderful it would be!"

A student said that this land should have been yours.

Oh?

This is the land of the old farmer. He wanted to sell you the land, but you didn't buy it, and he also lent him money to beat dog meat buns.

Hearing this, Wang Yangming suddenly got a chill. He asked himself, why do I think so? I can never have such an idea. I must get rid of him at once.

"ouch!" Wang Yangming lost his voice and said, "Ouch!"

There were many snakes in the mountains, and the students rushed to think that Wang Yangming had been bitten by a snake.

Seriously explain: "I was bitten, but it was not a snake, and it was 10,000 times more harmful than a snake."

Wang Yangming has been sitting cross-legged For a long time, he remained silent, which surprised his classmates. Until the sun goes down, Wang Shouren long sigh:

"I finally got rid of it!"

The disciples asked, "What?"

"lust!"

The story is short, but the truth is deep. It is about the steps of conscience, that is, four sentences of Wang Yangming's theory of mind:

There is no good disgusting body, there is good malicious action;

Knowing good and evil is a conscience, and doing good and evil is a matter.

Four sentences are from the second volume of Wang Yangming's Biography, which is regarded as the highest generalization of Wang Yangming's theory of mind and condensed the most essential wisdom of mind.

When we face something that hasn't happened yet, our hearts are in the most natural state, and our hearts can't make judgments, so we say, "There is no good disgusting body."

Before the old farmer came to sell land, Wang Yangming did not judge the matter of "the old farmer selling land" in his heart. When the old farmer came to sell land, Wang Yangming's heart was aroused, and the idea came: as a farmer, you sell land, not wait for death.

Conscience told Wang Yangming like lightning that this idea is good, so keep it and put it into practice: I will lend you money and you can keep the land.

When something happens, the heart begins to send out an idea, which means an idea. There are good and evil thoughts, so it is said that "there are good and evil actions."

When Wang Yangming didn't know that the beautiful land belonged to the old farmer, his heart didn't judge the fact that the beautiful land belonged to the old farmer. When he knew, Wang Yangming's heart rose and his idea came into being, so he had the first "ouch": I should have bought the old farmer's land at that time. This is "good and evil"

After the "meaning" moved, Wang Yangming suddenly felt wrong, selfish and evil. How did he know? Conscience tells him that, of course, once a person's conscience is covered, he will have good and evil. After having good and evil, he will not repay evil with good, so his outlook on life will have good and evil.

Conscience told Wang Yangming like lightning that the idea was evil. If you buy land, the old farm work will not last long. So there was a second "ouch". Because conscience can distinguish right from wrong and good from evil, this is "knowing good and knowing evil is conscience".

After conscience gives a judgment of likes and dislikes, what Wang Yangming has to do is to get rid of it quickly, so he sits down, overcomes this selfish desire, keeps mindfulness to get rid of evil thoughts, and then puts it into practice, that is to say, this is a fact, so "it is a fact to eliminate evil with virtue".

This is a step to conscience, simple and easy. But just like many people in the world don't know what they are doing, everyone can know, but few people leave.

When there is no red and fat braised elbow in front of us, our body and mind are innocent because we haven't had any induction with braised elbow.

When the braised elbow is served, our thinking will move and we will send out two rays, one for eating and the other for not eating. Therefore, for a healthy person, eating is good, and not eating is naturally evil.

Wang Yangming believes that evil is "excessive" or "less than". In Wang Yangming's view, good and evil are the ups and downs of a road. No one can live without anyone. Without good, evil is impossible. Without evil, there is no good.

Why is it evil not to eat? Because there is a desire to eat in human nature, and braised elbows are delicious. If you really want to eat but don't eat, it's melodramatic.

If you are a patient with severe fatty liver, when faced with a plate of braised elbow, eating is evil and not eating is good. Because your conscience will tell you that eating braised elbows will aggravate your illness, and you will be fine if you don't eat them.

Then the question we are discussing is: Is good and evil an external judgment or an internal judgment?

It is undoubtedly the judgment of our inner conscience.

Therefore, when we start the footsteps of conscience, we must pay attention to it, listen to our conscience, and ignore the external judgment scale.

In fact, the key to Wang Yangming's theory of mind lies in "case", which means that case is right and things are things. "Wu Ge" means thinking.

Yangming's theory of mind is to make you think correctly. Teacher Zhu Sheng can interpret Mr. Yang Ming's style, which is extremely simple and clear, easy to learn and use! Appreciate all the encounters! (meet again after a long separation)

Practice is not to cultivate a master, but to know that you are a person, not to be fascinated by others.
