My research in the countryside found that some blind fortune tellers began to change careers because of their low income. For example, a blind male fortune teller in his thirties turned to a massage shop as a massage technician.

The second reason is that there are not many people in the countryside. Now many young and middle-aged people in rural areas have gone out to work, leaving only some old people and a few left-behind women in the village. Anyone who knows the inside story of fortune telling knows that blind fortune tellers do not make money by fortune telling, but by changing their lives. It costs about 20 yuan to tell a fortune once, but changing your life is different. A life-changing blind fortune teller charges at least several hundred yuan, several thousand yuan or even ten thousand yuan. As an old man in the countryside, he doesn't have much money at hand, so he may only ask a blind fortune teller to tell his fortune, and he won't let the blind fortune teller change his life. Blind fortune tellers earn very little if they don't change their lives. Their income is so poor that they have to find a way to change careers.

The third reason is that the internet is developed now, and online fortune telling is very fast. I think online fortune telling has hit the offline fortune telling market. For example, some young people will tell their fortune online, and some middle-aged people will also tell their fortune online. People who can tell fortune online will definitely not find blind fortune tellers.
