Well, I sympathize with the big brother's experience. I want you to look at the four commandments of Leaving Fan and Meeting Kitchen God (which can be found online), which have a good explanation of fate. Buddha can't change cause and effect. All living beings have their own responsibilities, and good is rewarded with good, and evil with evil. Buddha crossing all sentient beings is a way to teach all sentient beings to be free. When people are born, they are born with life. Some people live long, while others live short. This innate life is determined by the good and evil done in previous lives, and has nothing to do with the good and evil in this life. For this kind of life, if there is no good or evil, people will follow their innate destiny step by step, which is short and pitiful. With good and evil, people have the opportunity to change their destiny. People can change their destiny by accumulating merits and demerits. Of course, innate destiny is not so easy to reverse, and it must be accumulated to a certain extent. Therefore, some people are not bad, just unhappy, just short-lived. That's because they haven't done enough to effectively break through their innate destiny. Therefore, we must work hard to abandon evil and be good, and never slack off. As the famous old wizard Kong Jing often said, he told Fortune many times when he was young, but he won't live to be 45 years old. Later, he completely reversed his fate by preaching scriptures and preaching dharma. Of course, kindness must be done in the heart, not to show off kung fu. This is well explained in Yu Jingyi's Meeting Kitchen God. Yu Jingyigong, who also did good deeds in the early days, also felt that he should be rewarded, but it was always unsatisfactory. Later, under the reminder of his chef, he realized that what he had done before was to show kung fu. To do good and accumulate virtue, he has to work hard from the heart, and he has to make changes from the heart. It is not easy to do good.

Then for those who study Buddhism, they should be able to reflect on themselves when encountering problems, and say that Buddhism is ineffective and not blessed when encountering setbacks. This in itself shows that if they don't really believe in Buddhism, it is a great sin to vilify Buddhism blindly. People who truly believe in Buddhism can reflect on themselves and find their own problems in time when they encounter setbacks. Because Buddha crossing all sentient beings is to teach all sentient beings the way of liberation, and everything you do must be borne by yourself. If you have a problem, you must not have done enough to follow our teacher's instructions.
