What spirit does Jiming Temple seek (Jiming Temple, the first ancient temple in Nanjing)

Last weekend, I had a rest and went to Nanjing for a few days. I visited many scenic spots. Jiming Temple, the only scenic spot where I want to write travel notes, sincerely prays for Buddha (I heard that marriage is very accurate).

Jiming Temple is located at the foot of Lushan Mountain at the eastern foot of Jilong Mountain in Xuanwu District, Nanjing. It is also known as the ancient Jiming Temple. Founded in the Western Jin Dynasty, it is one of the oldest Brahma temples in Nanjing. Since ancient times, it has had the reputation of "the first temple in the Southern Dynasties" and "the first temple in the Southern Dynasties". During the Southern Dynasties, it was the center of Buddhism in China.

1387 (twenty years of Hongwu in Ming dynasty), Zhu Yuanzhang, the first emperor of Ming dynasty, ordered the demolition of old houses, the expansion of scale and the reconstruction of monasteries. Zhu Yuanzhang inscribed "Jiming Temple". Later, it was expanded in the years of Xuande, Chenghua and Hongzhi in the Ming Dynasty, and the courtyard was huge, covering an area of 100 mu. Later, the ancient temple was destroyed by the Xianfeng War. Although the Tongzhi period was rebuilt and the scale was greatly reduced, the incense has been flourishing.

1958 changed to Zhong Ni Dojo. From 65438 to 0983, under the leadership of the former abbot Zong Cheng, Jiming Temple was gradually restored and opened to the outside world according to the scale and shape of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and became an important temple in Nanjing. During the period of 1992, the crew of "The Legend of the New White Snake" came to Nanjing Gujiming Temple to borrow the pharmacist pagoda to shoot the relevant scenes of Leifeng Pagoda because the West Lake Leifeng Pagoda had fallen down and the new one had not been built.

At noon, we set off from the presidential palace and went by bus. The traffic in Nanjing is not congested and smooth, but it is recommended to take the subway because parking is too inconvenient. You can take subway line 3, which is direct.

I was very surprised when I arrived at Jiming Temple. In this reinforced concrete city, he is a unique existence, aloof and vicissitudes, a memory of history and a praise for the protection of historical sites. Unfortunately, this kind of example is really rare in the whole country.

Before you reach Jiming Temple, you will reach a fork in the road. Right in the middle of the intersection is a memorial arch, a very simple memorial arch with only four words on it-the ancient Jiming Temple. Go north from the archway (it should be north because I seem to have fallen). After walking for a hundred or two meters, the gate of Jiming Temple appeared in front of you, which was very simple. I don't know why, although it is the weekend, there are not many tourists, which may be the reason for the rain.

You need to buy a ticket to enter Jiming Temple. I plan to buy it directly on the flying pig App, but I can't find it after searching for a circle. I have to go to the ticket office. On the left of the gate is the ticket office. The conductor is a nun and has a very Buddhist manner. The ticket price is very cheap, one for 10 yuan, and three incense sticks for you at the same time, but there is a relatively silent rule that only cash is allowed. You can go to the nearby place where drinks are sold to cash, or you can ask other tourists for help.

I forgot to mention that there are many palm readers, fortune tellers at the temple gate ... I was dragged back and forth by four or five people ... but I refused them, and I was helpless. Of course, it depends on my personal preference. You can try it if you like. The price is unknown.

After entering the temple, you can see the nuns in twos and threes are busy. If you have any questions, you can consult them (including Buddhist questions). At the same time, there will be a conspicuous sign in the temple to burn incense. You can observe the scenery in the temple while walking according to the signs.

Quietly, there is no noise except the Zen sound that has been playing. As soon as I entered here, I really felt that I was far away from the noise of secular dust, and my whole heart was peaceful.

Business is not heavy, there are no messy things to sell, there are not many merit boxes, only one place to burn incense. Let's talk about this later.

There are about four or five places to worship Buddha, and you don't need to pay money or order incense, but you should pay attention to the fact that their futon is too close to the merit box in front, so you must be careful when kowtowing. With my height (180CM), I will definitely meet it, remember ... I will worship every Buddha along the way, hehe, I have great expectations for the Buddha. You can also not worship, and finally there will be a place to worship incense, which can be worshipped at one time.

You can hang lanterns on the trees on both sides of the entrance of an ancient temple (I forgot the specific name, it's the only way) to pray, each person 10 yuan. These two trees have been densely covered. ...

There are many steps, which have become slippery after thousands of years of trampling by tourists. Be careful when walking, especially on rainy days, and the accompanying companions almost slipped.

Finally, the place to worship incense is also the end of the trip to Jiming Temple. After going up the steps, there is a big incense burner on the right. Walking along the incense burner, there is a small pavilion, which is the place to light incense. The pavilion is surrounded by red lotus flowers with red candles in the middle. I found the biggest flame to light incense ... There is a huge mural on the right wall of the pavilion door, which is a little on the upper side.

After worshipping incense, you can walk on to Baiwei Zhai, which is not expensive, but more affordable. I didn't eat because I wasn't hungry, and I don't know how it tasted. It seems that they are all vegetarian ... Free vegetarian meals will be provided on Monday.

After eating vegetarian food, turn right when you go out, which is the exit of the temple, and the journey is over. The whole journey takes about 60-90 minutes.

Finally, a few points for attention.

1, you need to buy a ticket to enter the temple, and it must be cash.

There are many fortune tellers, palmists and fortune tellers at the door, so you can choose freely according to your personal preference.

3. The place to worship incense is on the last side, which is a bit far away. Be sure to protect the three incense sticks I gave you, and don't break them!

4. The steps are slippery, so be careful.

Don't take photos in the temple and tower, and be careful when kowtowing.

6, don't smoke, don't make noise, don't wear a hat, don't wear sunglasses (except myopia glasses), put an end to all uncivilized, impolite and ungodly behavior.
