Yangko's grandmother died in episode 46 of the TV series Yangko: Jianghai Wu broke into Mrs. Wu's house and tried to kidnap her, then threatened Wu Gankun to perform Yangko for the Japanese. Stand in front of the old lady to prevent Wu from touching her grandmother. Later, Mrs. Wu was killed by the Japanese, and Wu was blind in one eye.
