The Han Tomb in Beidongshan is located in Dongshan Village, Maocun Town, tongshan district, on the north bank of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, on the west side of the Jinpu Railway and 10 kilometers north of Xuzhou. Because the village is located in the north of Xuzhou, it is commonly known as Beidongshan. There are three hills in the village, one in the southeast is called Huanshan, and there is a stone tomb in the mountain, which was stolen in the early years. There are many inscriptions on the two walls of the tomb, which is said to be the tomb of Sima Huan, a doctor in the Song Dynasty. It is actually a Han tomb.

Extended data

In the mid-1980s, after the excavation of the Han Tomb in Beidongshan, a northern suburb of Xuzhou, there was no written basis for indicating the owner's surname in the funerary objects, and the archaeological community has always had different views on the identity of the owner. Recently, after research, archaeologists found that the way and scale of "digging mountains and hiding" in the Han tomb in Beidongshan are similar to those in Guishan No.2 and Shiqiao Dongdong Mountain, but the scale is larger and the structure is more complicated.

Guishan No.2 Han Tomb is the tomb of Liu Zhu, the sixth king of Chu Xiang, and Dongdongshan Han Tomb is the tomb of a certain king of Chu (Hou) in the middle and late Western Han Dynasty. Therefore, archaeologists have determined that such a huge project as the Han Tomb in Beidongshan belongs to the King of Chu.

According to the burial system of the Han Dynasty, Chu tombs were buried in the mountains around Pengcheng, about 10 km. The tomb of the sixth generation Chu Liu Zhu couple (Guishan Han Tomb) has been excavated. After Liu Zhu, Chun Liu and Liu Yanshou have entered the middle of the Western Han Dynasty, so it can be ruled out that they are the owners of the Han Tomb in Beidongshan.

At the same time, the investigation shows that the tomb of Liu Jiao, the first generation of Chu King, was built on the top of Beishan Mountain, which is adjacent to the main peak of Chu King Mountain in Jiahe Township, west of Xuzhou City 10 km, and the tomb type is a large vertical cave stone pit tomb. Therefore, according to the Chu lineage, the owners of the Han Tomb in Beidongshan should be Liu Yingke, Liu Wu, Liu Li, Liu Daosi and Wang Zhiyi in the early Western Han Dynasty.
