Buddhism stresses cause and effect. Everything happens for a reason.

The same is true of marriages where people meet.

In The Legend of the White Snake, Xu Xian met the White Snake because Xu Xian saved the White Snake (later the White Snake) in a previous life, and then the White Snake married Xu Xian to pay off her debts.

Jia Baoyu and Lin Daiyu in a Dream of Red Mansions are also flower watering fairies and flower fairies in the sky. Later, Lin Daiyu came to the world and thanked Jia Baoyu with tears every day, so Lin Daiyu cried every day.

These two stories are both Buddhist stories.

No matter what the fortune teller says, as long as you two meet, it's fate. You have been in the same boat for a hundred years, and you have been sleeping together for a thousand years. As for your fate, it depends on your past life.
