What is cause and effect?

Because it can be man-made reasons, it has certain consequences, so the fruit is the result of certain reasons. Causality theory originated from the origin theory of Buddhism and is the basis of Buddhist reincarnation liberation theory. With the development of Buddhism, there are different views on causality.

The law of causality points out: As you sow, you reap. Buddhism believes that everything can be a cause or a result. There is no absolute cause or an absolute result. Buddhism sometimes uses karma, and there are some differences. Buddhism denies the cause and effect of the independent evolution of all things in the world, but connects all causes and effects with karma, making the objective world attached to all beings.

In a narrow sense, cause refers to the direct cause or internal cause of the result, while fate mainly refers to the auxiliary cause or external indirect condition of the result.

Causality in a broad sense also includes karma. Causality is the understanding of the relationship between existence and behavior, especially the context. Buddhism's causal theory is the basis of its theory of reincarnation liberation and life phenomenon. Twelve causes, six causes, four causes and five fruits in Buddhism belong to the category of Buddhist causal theory.

With the development of Buddhism, Buddhism has different views on the law of cause and effect:

1. In Hinayana Buddhism, everything says that the concept of cause and effect is mainly six causes, four causes and five fruits. When analyzing the various conditions or functions of the results of good and evil in the third world, six reasons are put forward, including possible reasons, all reasons, similar reasons, corresponding reasons, repeated reasons and unfamiliar reasons. Four edges are the causes of all actions, which are the classification of causes from the perspective of general results, including karma, equal seamless edge, marginal edge and incremental edge. Five fruits are fruits born by reason or proved by Tao, including different ripe fruits, equal flow fruits, practical fruits, added fruits and separated fruits.

2. The middle school of Mahayana Buddhism, starting from the "emptiness" view of its theory, denies that there is a real causal relationship, thinking that because it is not true, the fruit is not true, thus denying the theory that there is no cause and no result, and denying that there is a real "life". This also fundamentally denies the causal relationship of things.

3. The Mahayana Buddhist Yoga School puts forward ten causes, four causes and five fruits based on its theoretical knowledge, and holds that the causal relationship has certain reality, because knowledge is not real, so its causal view is not essentially different from that of the Chinese school.

trace (back) to the source of sth

Because it is the main cause; The edge is an auxiliary edge; Machine: convey the meaning of "product"; Fruit is the result.

No chance, no result, no opportunity, no result.

Cause and effect, because of the abbreviation of accidental effect, time is not enough, cause is not born, because it is not affected by fate, there is no fate.

The source of "machine" comes from: wood should be inspired by the fate of heaven and earth, get the spirit of heaven, accumulate the temperature of the sun, melt the water of the earth, gather the dust of the earth, accumulate a few pieces of wood, bend straight up, adhere to the "machine", reach the ground, repair the wood nobly, and finally achieve opportunities.

Therefore, "it's not that we don't report it, but that the time has not come."

meaning

The most classic sentence is "everything happens for a reason." Explain the nature of cause and effect directly and simply.

"Karma" can also be understood as "karma-karma-karma". If a seed is buried in the soil, it may not blossom and bear fruit without the "karma" of water, nutrients and sunlight.

This relationship of coexistence at the same time and coexistence at different times is actually the so-called causal relationship in Buddhism. For example, the seed is the cause and the bud is the fruit, because the seed comes first and then the bud develops, which is the causal relationship at different times. For example, if teachers are the mainstay, then teachers are the cause and students are the result. On the contrary, if students are the subject, then students are the cause and teachers are the result. This is a causal relationship that exists simultaneously and depends on each other. This causal relationship is very complicated. From this perspective, this cause will produce this result, but from another perspective, this cause will produce another result. In short, through the pros and cons, there is actually no absolute reason, and of course there is no absolute result.

The original oath of the Tibetan king and bodhisattva

"The four kings. If the earth treasure bodhisattva encounters a killer, it will be reported as a short-lived disaster. In case of theft, the thief said that poverty is rewarded. In case of adultery, birds, pigeons and mandarin ducks report it. If you have a bad mouth, say that your family will fight for it. If the rumor maker says there is no tongue injury. Call yourself ugly when you are angry. If you meet a miser, you say what you want is not what you want. In case of overeating, people say they are hungry and thirsty. When you meet a wild hunter, you say you are scared to death. If you don't obey your parents, it is said that you will kill heaven and earth. In case of burning mountain trees, people say they are crazy and get a death report. In case the cruel parents say that they are reborn and flogging are now reported. If a chicken is caught in the net, it is said that the flesh and blood are separated. If you slander Sambo, say they are deaf and dumb. If you teach slowly, you will always get what you deserve. In case of damage, the residents said that the billion robbed the reincarnation hell newspaper. To prevent the Vatican and monks from being defiled by false accusations. In the beast newspaper, it is said that soup and fire will always be prevented, and the living will be injured and the reincarnation will be rewarded. In case of breaking the precepts, the fasting person said that the beast was hungry. In case of unreasonable damage, the user said that he would never report it. If you meet me, I will pay tribute to those tall people. When two tongues argue, he will say that there is nothing to report. If you meet Jaken, you will get a reward. So wait for the result of Jambu-Di^pa.' s bad habits in body, mouth and industry. 100,000 retribution is roughly said today. If so, all creatures in Jambu-Di^pa feel different about karma. Thousands of Tibetan Bodhisattvas are convenient for enlightenment. The first to receive this reward is all sentient beings. After falling into hell, there is no such thing as disaster. Therefore, you protect the people and the country. Disorder is the confusion of all walks of life. "

cause and effect

Dabao Jing Volume 41

If you don't die after a hundred robberies,

Karma will pay off.

The mud plough sutra says: "The father does evil, but the son is not bitter;" If the son doesn't do well, the father won't suffer; If he is good, he is blessed; If he is evil, he will suffer. "

"Karma Sutra" said: "If you want to know the cause of the previous life, this life is bitter, and if you want to know the fruit in the future, you will do it in this life."

The Nirvana Sutra says: "Good people know that good is rewarded with good, and evil with evil, so they stay away from evil causes."

Maitreya asked the scriptures: "There are many fruits in one industry, and one fruit in many industries." (Many fruits in one industry are several punishments for one crime, and many fruits in one industry are several crimes and one punishment, which is heavier. )

Maitreya asked the scriptures, which is also called "one industry gradually realizes five fruits, three fruits are different, and two fruits are waiting".

Also known as the ten evil karma, there are three kinds of fruits: one is rewarding fruit, the other is habitual fruit, and the third is adding fruit. Being born in prison is a name increase. Among the people who retired from hell, some people died because of killing. According to theft, there is money and fruit. Even according to Jaken's infatuation, so all the famous habits. According to him, ten bad jobs. There are all kinds of foreign things, such as the so-called land, birds, mice, hail, thorns, dust and stench, snakes and scorpions, and so on.

I remember that Master Yuan Ying said to his disciples, "If you want to have no worries, you must learn Buddhism, know the cause, and don't envy others." We should keep in mind that we can reduce a lot of troubles and get physical and mental comfort and comfort. In Buddhism, besides secular causality, there are three kinds of causality, namely, this world, past life and afterlife. The scripture says, "Knowing the cause of the past life, the recipient of this life is, knowing the fruit of the next life, and the author of this life is." The Buddha's four truths and twelve causes method is also a concrete explanation of the cause and effect of the third world. In this view, the so-called causality is actually the principle of karma. This principle of karma is the only correct explanation of Buddhism to the subjective world and objective world of human beings, and it is the basic understanding of Buddhist outlook on life.

Law of Causality: Things are born and die.

This law shows that there is no direct causal relationship between two things or between two things.

The judgment of cause and effect, that is, the question of "why is this cause" or "what kind of result will this cause lead to", is a basic problem for human beings to think about knowledge. Cosmic causality is actually the causal expression of "the birth and death of layered objects". It points out: (a) Any direct causal relationship in the complex causal chain of everything in the universe is composed of one thing and one thing. There are only two possible combinations: (1) causal biological effect; (2) things happen because of things. One thing cannot be the direct cause of another, and one thing cannot be the direct cause of another. What is caused by things and what is caused by things is only an indirect causal relationship. This is different from the causal view in all traditional theories. For example: dialectical causality, yin-yang causality, Buddhist causality, empirical causality and so on. Because they are not clearly aware of the causal law of this universe. As for the fact that cause and effect cannot exist at the same time, there must be cause and effect, which is the same as dialectical view of cause and effect, empirical view of cause and effect and Buddhist view of cause and effect. However, it is not the same as the causal view of Yin and Yang, because it believes that there is a causal relationship that occurs at the same time, such as "Yin and Yang produce grams" and "the interaction between man and nature". (b) When the result is produced, its direct cause disappears. This is different from all traditional causal views. Because their main concern is the indirect causal relationship between "things cause things to produce results" or "things cause biological results". The purpose is to find the causal connection between two things or between two things. The causality law of "extinction of things" holds that to understand any indirect causality, we must first understand every direct causality in the interval. This points out the correct starting point for solving the general indirect causal problem. (c) This law is a three-dimensional expression of internal and external causes and external and internal problems. And all traditional causal views are expressed linearly.
