In recent years, the ecological environment of Huangpi Lake wetland in Lujiang County has been continuously improved, attracting a large number of rare migratory birds such as oriental storks and swans to spend the winter here. Huangpi Lake (also known as Huang Po Lake), located 6 ~ 15km southeast of Lujiang County, Hefei City, Anhui Province, belongs to the Chaohu Lake system in the Yangtze River basin. County rivers carry a lot of sediment into the lake all the year round. The bottom of the lake is flat and shallow, the water level is not high, and the lake is often slightly yellow, so it is named "Huangpi Lake".

The lake area has a longitudinal diameter of 10 km and a width of 3.5km.. When the water level 10 meter, the corresponding water area is 37.9 square kilometers. After crossing the Xiaqiao Bridge, the water in the Nawayang River, Cao Shi River, Huangni River and Xianhe River in the lake is divided into two parts: it flows into Xihe River in the east and flows into Chaohu Lake in the north via Tangchuan River and Zhaohe River. Huangpi Lake is winding, with sandy banks and alluvial soil, Huangni River and Wayang River.

Location context

Huangpi Lake is located 6 ~ 15km southeast of Lujiang County, Hefei City, Anhui Province, and upstream of Xihe River, a tributary of Yuxi River, a tributary of the Yangtze River.
