What is the worship of Maitreya?

Maitreya (Maitreya in Sanskrit and Metteyya in Balinese), translated as cishi, is often called Mahayana Bodhisattva in Mahayana Buddhist classics. He is a descendant of Buddha Sakyamuni and will be born and cultivated in the world of concubines in the future. He is regarded as the originator of epistemology, and his huge ideological system has been interpreted and developed by Bodhisattva and Bodhisattva, and highly praised by China Mahayana Buddhist masters Zhi Qian, Daoan and Xuanzang. In some temples of Han Buddhism, it is common to show your chest and abdomen, with a smiling face (or a pot-bellied monk) as the prototype. In Buddhism, as a kind of expressive education, it means "a large quantity is a blessing", reminding the world to learn tolerance. Among them, the big belly can accommodate things that are difficult to accommodate in the world; Laugh when you open your mouth, and laugh at the ridiculous people in the world.

Note: Maitreya with a big belly (based on the cloth-bag monk), Maitreya with a heavenly crown (the image of Maitreya in ancient India) and Lohan with a cloth bag are not the same image.

Maitreya worships tolerance and joy.

First of all, why is it called Maitreya? There are three kinds of buddhas, namely, past buddhas (represented by ancient buddhas burning lamps), present buddhas (represented by Sakyamuni Buddha) and future buddhas (represented by Maitreya Buddha).

Now is the teaching era of Sakyamuni Buddha, so it is called Maitreya Bodhisattva. Maitreya Buddha Bodhisattva Maitreya Buddha will be called Maitreya Buddha when he is born in the future. In fact, they all belong to the same person, but they have different names at different times.

Maitreya Bodhisattva created an image of a potbellied and smiling cloth-bag monk. What he represents is: first, generosity and tolerance; Second, be merciful and accept all sentient beings with joy.

Therefore, Maitreya represents: life equals heart, showing joy. Treat all sentient beings with a pure and equal heart and receive all people with a bright smile.
