Where is Yu Garden?

Yu Garden is located in the northeast of the old city of Shanghai, bordering Fu You Road in the north, Anren Street in the east and the Old Town God Temple in Shanghai in the southwest.

Yu Garden was originally a private garden in Ming Dynasty. It was built in the Ming Dynasty and has a history of more than 400 years since 20 15. Pan Yunduan, the owner of the garden, was in Buzheng, Sichuan Province. From 1559 (the last year of Jiajing, Ming Dynasty), he built a garden on several vegetable fields in the west of Shichuntang where Pan lived. After more than 20 years of painstaking efforts, Yu Garden was built. "Jade" means "Peace" and "Antai", hence the name "Yuyuan Garden", which means "Jade Yue Lao Qin".

Yu Garden, covering an area of more than 70 mu at that time, was designed by Zhang Nanyang, a famous gardener in Ming Dynasty, and personally participated in the construction. The ancients praised the Yuyuan Garden as "a must in the southeast" and "the crown of famous gardens in the southeast". There are three famous stone jade dragons in the south of the Yangtze River, and there is 1853 Daohui uprising command post Dianchuntang. There are tourist attractions such as Chenghuang Temple and Shops Street near the park. Yu Garden was opened to the public on 196 1, and was listed as a national key cultural relics protection unit by the State Council in 1982.

Features of Yu Garden:

Yu Garden adopts the traditional Jiangnan garden style as a whole. The garden is surrounded by mountains and waters, with a patchwork and winding path, creating a garden landscape combining nature and humanity. The architectural modeling of Yu Garden mainly adopts the way of imitating architectural works of art, and takes the sketch-style architectural group as the basic unit, forming a style with the characteristics of Jiangnan gardens.

The most representative buildings in Yu Garden are the "Three Wonders of Yu Garden", namely "Bilang Pavilion", "Lunkong Pavilion" and "Biepu Building", which respectively symbolize historical and cultural characteristics, humanistic spirit and artistic realm. In addition, there are many natural landscapes such as lakes, rockeries and stalactites, as well as human landscapes such as sculptures and cultural traditions, which constitute a large-scale garden park full of ecological and human geographical elements.
