On Dwarf Mountain in Dwarf Street

Dwarf Mountain, now called Dwarf Street, is located in the west of caidian district, bordering Xiantao and Hanchuan. It used to be the economic and cultural center of the border area between Sichuan and Han, but its status has declined in the past decade, but it is still a cultural center town.

The low mountain area is located at the edge of the ancient Taibai Lake, which is a flooded area. Before the Ming Dynasty, it was almost uninhabited and had no human history. At the beginning of the Ming Dynasty, the water level receded here, and villages appeared. Most of the residents moved from Jiangxi, so the history of Dwarf Mountain began at the beginning of the Ming Dynasty.

There are many hills and hills here, and Dwarf Mountain is one of many hills. Needless to say, she is the shortest of all the mountains, hence the name. Of course, it didn't have this name until the early Ming Dynasty. Although there is a legend that King Chu Ping threw a seal to stop the wind and waves in the Spring and Autumn Period, there is no so-called name. However, the name short mountain is a bit brain-dead, which has brought a lot of trouble to future generations. Lushan Mountain, which also belongs to caidian district, has its name changed to smart. Anyone who has been to Lushan Mountain knows that there are few mountains and small mountains, so the ancients used it against their will and named it Lushan Mountain, which means there are many mountains.

Dongzhi Mountain (also known as Dong Zi Mountain), Gushan Mountain (also known as Tanshan Mountain) and Junshan Mountain were isolated islands in the middle of the lake in ancient times, while Zaojiao Mountain, Tortoise Mountain, Zhuma Mountain and Dwarf Mountain were hills on the shore of the lake. Of all the mountains, Junshan is the highest and the scenery in the east is the best. Because it looks at Shannan in the east and Ma Pingchuan in the west, there are no obstacles. Before the construction of the West Lake levee, every flood season, the lake can reach the foot of the mountain, with vast smoke waves, the Yangtze River in the south and Mianyang in the west. In the Ming Dynasty, Shang Shu of the Ministry of War and Dai Jin of Hanyang wrote poems praising: "Han has no boundaries, and Dongting seems to have neighbors." The martyr Jiang Tianshu, a villager, also wrote in a poem: "The breeze blows the lonely sail far away, and the wildfire fishing lamp is full of clouds." It can be seen that the scenery is magnificent. There are many bluestones on the mountains in the east, and there are thousands of holes in the stones. This is a miracle, because most of the mountains are limestone, which is washed away by rain. This kind of bluestone, also known as millstone and Chu Shi, can be used to carve stamps and inkstones. It's a pity that quarries are all over today, and they are dilapidated, and there is no revival of old ideas.

There is a dike between Dongzhi Mountain and Junshan Mountain, called Junshan Dike, also known as Bashang. At the end of Qing dynasty, there were houses on the dam. It was once prosperous during the Anti-Japanese War. At that time, Hankou, Caidian and Xindi were all captured by the Japanese army, and the waterway transportation of the Yangtze River and Hanshui River was cut off. Only by inland river transportation, the Junshan Gate on the dam is connected with the waterway throat in the Jian (Li) Mian (Yang) Qian (Jiang) area. After liberation, Bashang declined completely, but people still lived there. There are criss-crossing buildings outside the dam, which is still a flood discharge area. Fortunately, the year of flooding is rare in recent years.

The dwarf river winds through the city. It is an artificial river, named after the short mountain, which is connected by natural rivers and lakes. Before the Republic of China, local lakes were connected and rivers and lakes were connected. In the flood season, rivers and lakes are integrated and water transportation extends in all directions. After the completion of the West Lake dike, it will inevitably block the river from the lake. Therefore, the dwarf river will be excavated while building the dike to facilitate water delivery, irrigation and drainage. This river has always been an important channel for dwarf mountain areas to communicate with the outside world. From this river to the north, you can enter Suozichang River to Caidian via Qianhujing, then Hanshui River to Hankou, or from Hugang East to Songlinzui, then through Houguan Lake water system to Macang Lake, then to Hanyang old county (now Hanyang District), and then through Sancha Port to Xianglushan to Tongshun River in the south, which is convenient for water transportation and can distribute bulk goods. After liberation, the waterway gradually became congested and relied on road transportation.

At the end of Qing Dynasty, Sichuan-Han Railway was advocated, but it was suspended after the Revolution of 1911, leaving the roadbed. After liberation, the national highway 3 18 was built on this subgrade. This road is divided by the crab lake. After the poor blue crab lake was cut off, it gradually silted up and became a small pond. 3 18 national highway runs through dwarf city, which has been busy, which also contributed to dwarf once becoming the second largest town in Hanyang County. After the completion of Yihuang Expressway, the highway was obviously depressed, which also seriously affected the dwarf economy.

From the east to the south of the mountain, it is a flooded area. Before liberation, firewood (that is, reeds, which can be used to weave reed mats and hang curtains) and Artemisia were abundant here. Huang Baoshi, a native of Xiaosijiugou, once served as a senior official in * * * *, and escaped from Taiwan in 1949. In his memoirs, he praised Artemisia selengensis and longed for it. He died of old age on an island and could not taste. He can only be homesick.

Before liberation, the craftsmen of Dwarf Mountain were quite famous, such as masons in Zhongwan and Daiwan, blowers and weavers in Bai Bao Village (formerly known as Bao Bei, once known as Hongqi Village in the planned economy era), masons in Gaodun guojialing, and carpenters in Jinfang Bay. Local products are famous for their high-pier straw sandals, Jinfangwan homespun, Bashang reed mat and Huanglian lotus root.

After liberation, the earliest products were limestone and quartzite, and now there is the worry of resource exhaustion. Quarrying has always been the pillar industry of the dwarves, but at the expense of the environment, it was once beautiful, and now the mountains in the territory are riddled with holes, which makes people sigh. It is imperative to rectify the environment. There are coal underground in Toshiba Mountain and nearby Junshan Mountain, Zhongshan Mountain, Gushan Mountain, Zaojiao Mountain, Wugui Mountain and Liuzhang Lake, but the reserves are not large and have never been mined.

"Aishan" brand sesame oil has always been very famous, and steamed dwarf vegetables are even more popular. This dish is a must for weddings, funerals and weddings. All the guests who come to Shorty will ask for a taste of steamed Shorty three times. Steamed meat, steamed fish and steamed side dishes are the main products, which are worse than "Mianyang Steamed Three Steams", especially steamed eel and amaranth with powder. There are also wild Artemisia selengensis (the root of Artemisia selengensis is eaten in winter, and the stem of Artemisia selengensis is eaten in spring), rice meal (shepherd's purse), Artemisia selengensis (water bamboo in spring, water bamboo in winter, black spots of wild Artemisia selengensis, which taste better, but should not be eaten more), and chicken head bud (Gordon Euryale).

Since the Ming dynasty, there has been a martial arts style in the area of dwarf mountain. There are many martial arts practitioners, but the style of writing is not obvious. It was rarely heard in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and people gradually appeared after entering the Republic of China. Yin Gongfu, a cadre of the May 4th Student Movement, was the director of education of Hubei First Normal University. Teng Chenggong and Zhou Enlai, students studying in France, once entered Moscow Oriental University and attended the Sixth National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Unfortunately, he was unlucky and died while in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. Gao Feiteng Tian Kun, graduated from the Law Department of the Chinese University, served as the secretary of the major of the Chen Chengbu 18 Army of the National Revolutionary Army, the head of the Lieutenant Colonel of the Lushan Officer Training Corps, and the head of the Political Department of the 9th Theater. Later, he switched to politics, worked as a county magistrate and legislator, and then went to Taiwan Province Province; Wu Yao Yong, a successful person, once served as acting county magistrate of Huangmei County, secretary of Lieutenant Colonel in the Chief of Staff's Office of Northwest Anti-Banditry General Command, secretary of military colonel in the battlefield Party and Government Committee of Chongqing Military Commission, and speaker of Hanyang County Senate. After liberation, he served as a counselor of the Central South Military and Political Committee and a librarian of the Hubei Provincial Museum of Literature and History. Yao Changzao, a native of Snow Mountain, was a scholar in the late Qing Dynasty. He used to be the primary trial director of Xiakou County, the judge of Xiangyin County, the judge of Hubei Provincial District Court and the judge of High Court. Ouyang Shangqing, a native of Yangwan, graduated from Baoding Military Academy in the fourth phase. He used to be the director of Major General Education Department of the Sixth Branch of Guilin Central Military Academy and the director of Senior Staff Office of Nanjing Military Training Department. Yin, a native of Henglong, was a special commissioner of Wuhan District Committee of the Communist Party of China; Xu Zhifu, a Masai ethnic group, was once the military minister of Chuanyang County Committee of the Communist Party of China and the director of the Political Department of Chuanyang Independent Regiment of the Red Army. Jiang Tianshu, a Baise, is the captain of the Hanyang guerrilla. Fu, a native of Fuwan, was once the detachment leader of guerrilla detachment of Chuanhanmian Command. Another Red Army martyr Li Facheng (Guanling) and Liu Keren (Liu Zhong) and an anti-Japanese martyr Zhu Changjiang (Zhuwan) also had heroic deeds. Li Heting, a famous Chinese medicine practitioner, is helpful to the world; Painter Yin, a native of Dongshan, is good at painting landscapes; Famous monks are enlightened, and Yunfeng Sanskrit is widely spread; Writer Liu Peiqing, whose ancestral home is Mianyang, has taught in Dwarf Middle School for many years. He likes swimming and often floats on the dwarf river, smoking and reading, which is also a kind of scenery. The poet's valley is not yellow, developing local literature, and his voice is early; Zhou Xingcun, Yang Lingren, has excellent poetry and prose; What's more, Zheng Juxuan, a native of Zhengjiafan, is called "the blind man" (the villagers call him Ma Xiazi) and is the guide of the individual economy in Hanzheng Street.
