Where is Lingyin Temple?

Lingyin Temple is located in Lingyin Road, Xihu District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province.

Lingyin Temple, also known as Yunlin Temple, is the earliest famous temple in Hangzhou, which preserves many exquisite cultural relics of various dynasties. This is the home of Jigong, and it is said that prayer is very effective. Every day pilgrims come to worship Buddha and pray.

In its heyday, Lingyin Temple had nine floors, eighteen pavilions and seventy-two halls, with more than 3,000 monks. In the Northern Song Dynasty, Lingyin Temple was listed as the first of the five Buddhist temples with its outstanding personality and majestic atmosphere. Lingyin Temple really got the meaning of "seclusion", and the whole magnificent temple was deeply hidden in the dense forest of West Lake and the thick green of Qingquan. There is a cold spring in front of the temple, Feilaifeng.

Lingyin Temple was built in the first year of Xianhe in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (AD 326). About 1700 years ago, it is the earliest famous temple in Hangzhou. Lingyin Temple is located in the west of West Lake in Hangzhou, with its back to the North Peak and facing Feilai Peak. Surrounded by two peaks, the mountains are shaded by trees and there are many ancient temples.

There are many modes of transportation to Lingyin Temple, and visitors can choose according to their own needs.

1. Take the train to Hangzhou City Railway Station, and then take bus Y2 to Lingyin Temple.

2. There are buses in the city: No.7, No.807, 1, No.2 and No.4, and get off at Lingyin Station.
