What does it mean to have a mole on your ear?

The mole on the ear may be different according to the age.

Pigmented nevus is the most common among young people. If it is the elderly, it may be seborrheic keratosis. In this case, skin microscopy can be done to further distinguish whether it is pigmented nevus, seborrheic keratosis or nevus and other diseases.

Pigmented nevus usually does not need treatment when it grows on the ear, unless there are some conditions that can be treated, such as itching, pain, ulceration and so on. Surgical resection should be considered to prevent this nevus from becoming cancerous and becoming malignant melanoma. If it is seborrheic keratosis, it can be treated by laser or cryotherapy. If it does not affect life, it can be left untreated because it is a benign skin disease.
