Wutai Mountain in Shanxi Province

On August 2 1 day, we set out from Pingyao, arrived at Wutai Mountain four hours later, and stayed in the cool courtyard near Tayuan Temple in Wutai Mountain. The gazebo was recommended by a friend. Very emotional, the yard is clean and tidy. Unfortunately, there was no photo record at that time.

Wutai Mountain is located in Wutai County, Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province, ranking first among the four famous Buddhist mountains in China. Wutai Mountain is located in the northeast of Shanxi Province, belonging to Wutai County of Xinzhou City, 230 kilometers southwest of Taiyuan, the provincial capital. Together with Putuo Mountain in Zhejiang, Jiuhua Mountain in Anhui, Emei Mountain in Sichuan and * * *, it is also called "Four Famous Buddhist Mountains in China". Wutai Mountain, together with Lumbini Garden in Nepal, Rokuyan, Bodhgaya and Naga in India, is also known as the five Buddhist holy places in the world. The first person to promote Buddhism in Wutai Mountain was Master Ming (the third generation living Buddha) Sang Wang Auden, who personally went to Wutai Mountain to spread Buddhism in 7 10 BC. "The Record of Famous Mountains" records: "Wutai Mountain stands with five peaks, which are higher than Yun Biao. There are no trees on the top of the mountain, which seems to be a platform of earth, so it is called Wutai."

The next morning, we began to visit the temple in Wutai Mountain. We went to Tayuan Temple first, 1600 years ago. Tayuan Temple, located in the south of Xiantong Temple in Taihuai Town, Wutai Mountain, is one of the five famous Buddhist temples in Wutai Mountain. It used to be the pagoda of Xiantong Temple. After rebuilding the stupa in the Ming Dynasty, it became a separate temple. Because there is a big white pagoda in the courtyard, it is named Tayuan Temple. The towering White Pagoda is the main symbol of this temple.

The pagoda is called Sakyamuni Buddha Pagoda, commonly known as the Great White Pagoda. The tower rises from the ground and goes straight into the sky. Surrounded by Wutai Mountain Temple, it is quite spectacular. People regard it as a symbol of Wutai Mountain. The tower is 75.3 meters high and 83.3 meters in circumference. The tower foundation is square, and the tower body is like an algae bottle, with alternate thickness and Fiona Fang collocation, which is beautiful in shape. The eight copper plates on the top cover of the tower are round, arranged according to the eight diagrams of stem, ridge, root, earthquake, loss, separation, Kun and intersection. The top of the tower is equipped with a copper roof, which is about five meters high and covers an area of more than twenty-one meters. Decorated with 36 overhangs, more than two meters long. There are three wind clocks hanging at the bottom of each cornice, including the wind clock at the waist of the tower. There are 252 wind clocks in the whole tower. The wind is ringing and jingling.

As soon as we entered the door, we were attracted by its red high wall.

There is a huge sutra depository and a beautiful white pagoda in it.

Connected to Tayuan Temple is Daxiantong Temple. The buildings inside are very distinctive.

The Great Manjusri Hall is the second hall of Xiantong Temple. Rebuilt in 1746 (Qingganlong 1 1), it is a wood structure. Wutai Mountain is the Dojo of Manjusri Bodhisattva, and all temples are dedicated to Manjusri Bodhisattva. Natural Xiantong Temple is no exception. The difference is that there are seven Manjusri Bodhisattvas in the Great Manjusri Hall of Xiantong Temple: the one in the middle is Manjusri Bodhisattva; The top five, from left to right, are Manjusri of the Lion in the West Taiwan, Manjusri of the Wisdom in the South Taiwan, Manjusri of the Confucian in the Middle Taiwan, Manjusri of the Innocent in the North Taiwan and Manjusri of the Smart in the East Taiwan. Manjusri is followed by Manjusri. In addition, Manjusri has a statue of Wei Tuo, the protector, and eighteen arhats on both sides. Daxiong Hall is the third largest hall in Xiantong Temple, where three Buddha statues are enshrined: Sakyamuni Buddha in the middle, Amitabha Buddha in the west and Pharmacist Buddha in the east; There are eighteen arhats on both sides; There are three Buddha statues: Guanyin, Manjusri and Pu Xian. This hall is a pure wooden nail-free structure supported by 108 columns.

The Infinite Hall of Xiantong Temple in Wutai Mountain is divided into two floors, seven bright rooms and three dark rooms. Wood-like structure is adopted, with a width of 28.2m, a depth of16m and a height of 20.3m.. It rests on the top of the mountain, has double eaves and is made of brick coupons. Three consecutive arches are juxtaposed, and the left and right gables become the arch feet. The rooms are connected by an open arch, which is a masterpiece of ancient masonry in China. Carved flowers on the outer eaves, suspended in the carved algae wells, shaped like flowers on the top of a treasure, and there are infinite buddhas in the hall.

The Huayan Sutra Pagoda preserved in the temple is a rare treasure. The pagoda is a seven-story pagoda, made of white silk, with a length of 5.7 meters and a width of 1.7 meters. It's Kang, and the fine print Hua Yan Jing has eighty volumes. There are seven pavilions on each floor in front of the Infinite Hall. Brick carvings and plaques are embedded in the pavilion. Some are titled "Puguang Mingtang", some are titled "Fa Bodhi Field", and some are titled "Many Gardens Lost".

The bronze hall is 8.3 meters high, 4.7 meters wide and 4.5 meters deep, with copper of 654.38+ 10,000 Jin. This temple is square in plane, 9 feet wide, 8 feet deep and 10-plus feet high. Two floors, one room, four corners and four columns, the column base is like a drum. Inside the temple, there are six doors on the upper floor and eight doors on the lower floor. There are ten thousand Buddha statues on the four walls of the temple, resplendent and shining. The walls of the temple are full of Buddha statues, known as ten thousand buddhas; There is a bronze Buddha statue 3 feet high in the center of the temple.

The bronze statue temple is a monk named Miao Feng, who was the teacher of Li Taihou, the mother of Wanli Emperor in the Ming Dynasty (AD 1609). Presented in 13 provinces and cities nationwide, three bronze temples have been cast successively, one in Emei Mountain, one in Baohua Mountain in Nanjing and one in Wutai Mountain. All three bronze halls were cast in Jingzhou, Hubei, and transported to the site for assembly. Now only Wutai Mountain is left. The bronze hall is square, with two double eaves, about 5 meters high, and the surrounding partition walls are decorated with flower patterns and flowers and birds at the pot door.

The inner wall is full of ten thousand small buddhas, and there is a big Buddha sitting on the central platform, so it is called "the Buddha of ten thousand buddhas". At the same time, five copper towers were cast in front of the temple, which were arranged in four directions: east, west, north and south, symbolizing five terraces. Unfortunately, during the Japanese invasion of China, three towers were stolen by the Japanese invaders, leaving only two original towers. The tower has 13 floors and is 8 meters high. The tower body is full of Buddha statues, and the base is square. Each corner is cast with a lux, a hand rest, a shoulder or a tower body on the top of the head. There is a small bronze temple as big as a thumb in the southwest corner under the two towers, and there is a land statue of a little finger in the temple. Later, three towers were cast out of iron and stood in their original places. Bronze halls and towers are decorated with gold foil.

There are many monks in the temple. At 5 o'clock in the afternoon, the tourists gradually receded and the temple was quiet again.

In the afternoon, we also went to Bodhisattva Peak. Touched the Buddha's foot. Overlooking Tayuan Temple and Daxiantong Temple.

I watched See You Again in the evening.
