Legal basis: Article 300 of the Criminal Law of People's Republic of China (PRC), whoever organizes or uses religious sects or cult organizations or uses superstition to undermine the implementation of state laws and administrative regulations shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than three years but not more than seven years; If the circumstances are especially serious, he shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than seven years.

Whoever organizes or uses cults or uses superstition to deceive others and causes death shall be punished in accordance with the provisions of the preceding paragraph.

Whoever organizes or uses a cult organization or uses superstition to rape women or defraud property shall be convicted and punished in accordance with the provisions of Articles 236 and 266 of this Law respectively.
