Legend of Lianhua Mountain Temple

1000 years ago, Kucao Town, Longyan City. There is a beautiful Lotus Hill five miles southwest of the town. There is a lotus temple hidden in the shade of the tree. There is a skilled lotus monk in the temple. It is said that this monk was originally the second abbot of Shaolin Temple in Quanzhou. He left the temple because of disagreement with the main abbot. He brought two treasures: a gong and a dough drum. After the trip to western Fujian, I stayed at Lianhua Temple. He is kind-hearted, diligent and quick-footed, planting flowers and trees and renovating temples. On both sides of the butterfly gate, Zhu couplets are written: "The morning gongs scare away the plague, and the dusk drums usher in a bumper year." The cross is: "Bless all sides". Monks have been beating gongs and drums on time every day for many years to pray for the villagers' peace. Strange to say, this gong and drum is unusual. As long as it is within the range of sound, people and animals are safe everywhere and crops are abundant. People in Kucao Town are very attached to this monk and regard the gongs and drums of Lotus Temple as treasures. After the bumper harvest every year, many people will go to Lianhuashan Temple to burn incense and decorate gongs and drums, which is very lively. As a result, the reputation of Bao Gong's gongs and drums spread like wildfire and spread all over the four townships and eight neighbors.

Tell me about a rich man in Nanyangba, 20 miles away. His name is Kuaipi San. He is insidious and heartless. His family has thousands of acres of fertile land, hundreds of long-term workers and lives a life of nothing. One day, the servant Lai Maigou told Lianhua Mountain Temple that there were precious gongs and drums. Hearing this, he was salivating and frowning. He thought: If he can get gongs and drums, he can protect the peace and prosperity of his family. Secondly, he beats gongs and drums every day, and can command hundreds of long-term workers to plow the fields when greeting. So, my dog and I whispered. That night, pines and bells rang on Lianhua Mountain. After a while, there was lightning and thunder, and it rained heavily in the sky. Several dark shadows sneaked into the temple, took down the gongs and drums and ran to the northwest. At this time, the monk who was meditating heard the noise and saw a figure flash by under the dim soybean oil lamp, so he got up, took off his sword and followed.

After the third-class man succeeded, he rolled and crawled and came to the sugarcane ridge at the foot of the mountain. I saw the river raging and choppy. The boat tied to the willow tree in advance disappeared, so we had to look around. At this time, dozens of farmers who arrived nearby held Song Ming and wooden sticks and shouted loudly, scaring Class Three like ants on hot bricks. Pipisan found a boat from the beach, and the robbers hurried through it. At the same time, the lotus monk and a group of farmers rushed to the river. Under the reflection of pine fire, I saw that the thief boat had rowed to the middle of the river. Lotus monk great anger, then sword murmured. In an instant, there was a strong wind and a thunderstorm. There was a loud noise, a light flashed across the river, the boat capsized, all drowned in the stream, and the gongs and drums were also thrown into the water. Monk Lian pointed his sword at the river. At first it was calm, and two big stones appeared in the river. After dawn, everyone took a closer look, and the big stone looked like an upside-down gong, while the other one looked like an oblique drum. Since then, this place has been called Shigu. Until now, we can still see a pair of "stone gongs" and "stone drums"
