Let the cold go at once.

Cold is a term rarely used by modern people, and it is known to all. A cold refers to sneezing, runny nose, cough, headache, fever, sore throat and other symptoms. Cold is one of the real causes of colds. Cold is not a serious disease in Chinese medicine, but it has far-reaching influence and endless harm.

Sneezing is one of the normal functions of the human body, which is mainly used to exclude foreign bodies entering the nasal cavity. There are many kinds of foreign bodies in the nose, and only foreign bodies in the form of nasal water can be considered as "colds". Therefore, eliminating runny nose is one of the main causes of sneezing. Treating a cold should not stop sneezing, but must find out the cause of runny nose.

Because there are many different reasons that can cause sneezing, runny nose and other symptoms, from the perspective of Chinese medicine, the identification of diseases is not based on symptoms, but on the cause. Therefore, symptoms such as sneezing and runny nose caused by a cold are called wind chill.

Because there are many symptoms caused by cold, many famous Chinese medicine practitioners have attached great importance to cold since ancient times. The medical books written by Zhang Zhongjing, a famous doctor in the Han Dynasty, cover all kinds of diseases, but they are named as "typhoid miscellaneous diseases", which is the reason.

It may be easier to explain the concept of wind-cold in TCM with modern scientific and technological knowledge. Wind and cold are two different diseases, and wind refers to wind evil. The main connotation of the word "wind" is insect, that is, there are external causes, just like bacteria or viruses in modern medicine.

Although people in ancient China didn't know about the existence of bacteria, they speculated that something similar to insects would cause diseases to human body. Although there are some ways to prevent this kind of disease, there is no real cure.

"Cold" is a unique vocabulary of TCM. The word "qi" in traditional Chinese medicine has many different meanings, including the familiar air, the invisible qi practiced by qigong masters, and even body fluids are often expressed by "qi".

"Cold" refers to what the human body produces when it is cold. From a physical point of view, heat will be transferred between all adjacent objects, from high-temperature objects to low-temperature objects. Therefore, when the human body is in a low temperature environment, the heat of the body will be continuously lost until the human body is consistent with the external temperature.

The drop of body temperature, medically called hypothermia, is a fatal danger. Therefore, when the human body faces a low temperature environment, the first defensive measure is to quickly and appropriately reduce the body surface temperature, narrow the temperature difference between the human body and the outside world, and reduce the speed of heat loss, but the temperature that the human body can drop is very limited.

When the heat is still rapidly losing, the human body will start the second defense measure, which is to burn a substance chemically to generate heat. This measure must be carried out under the skin close to the body surface to prevent the important organs in the body from losing temperature. This charred substance is usually in the body fluid flowing on the body surface.

The burning mentioned here is not exactly what we usually say. There is no real flame, but two different substances react chemically to produce heat.

The human body is a superb chemical magician. When the bone is injured by external force, internal bleeding will appear around the broken bone due to the rupture of blood vessels, and the outflow of blood will surround the broken bone. At this time, the human body will secrete some substances, turn these blood into osteoblasts, quickly fuse with the original bones, and automatically repair the broken bones. This method of repairing the human body is well known in modern medicine.

If the human body can use the method of transforming blood into bone cells to repair bones, then it should be possible to use the method of transforming substances to generate heat to prevent heat loss.

There are many ways to change the heat produced by substances in chemistry. The simplest example is burning carbon molecules to generate heat.

C2+ 2O2→ 2CO2+ heat

The human body is full of various carbohydrates (CxHvOz). Changing the ratio of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen properly or adding some substances may generate heat. This method will change the original normal body fluid into low-calorie body fluid, release heat at the same time, make up for the heat lost due to external low temperature, and reduce the speed of body temperature loss.

These changed body fluids can no longer be used by the human body like the original body fluids, but become waste that must be excreted. This deteriorated body fluid is probably what Chinese medicine has called "chill" for thousands of years, which means that chill is probably not an abstract concept like Qigong, but a concrete substance, which may be liquid or solid.

Because heat will flow out from all parts of the human body, cold substances may exist in different parts. Different parts of the human body deal with colds in different ways, so they form colds with different symptoms.

For example, the cold behind the human body will directly accumulate on the bladder meridian (long-term accumulation will form a thick layer of fat behind the body, and some of these fats are formed by the long-term accumulation of degraded body fluids.

The cold on the top of the head will pile directly on the top of the head. Usually there is only a thin layer of skin on the top of your head, so it should feel hard to press it with your hands. But when the cold air accumulates much more, it will form a soft substance that feels like a sponge pad. The cold air on the top of the head will form a hard swelling on the left or right side of the forehead. When you go to the hospital for diagnosis, the doctor will identify it as hyperosteogeny, which is a substance that accumulates cold in solid form.

Frontal cold, the upper body will accumulate in the lung meridian and its meridians (branches of meridians), on both sides of the midline of the human chest. The cold in front will also accumulate in the stomach meridian, which extends from the lower part of the eyes to the toes, and the front part of the thigh is the most likely place to accumulate cold.

Severe accumulation of cold in the stomach meridian will form a layer of hard and thick tissue in the front of the thigh, which will cause problems in the expansion and contraction of the thigh, thus causing inconvenience in movement. Few doctors can diagnose that this disease is related to the stomach, and it often becomes an incurable and intractable disease. It is hard to imagine that limping for decades is because the stomach suffers from cold.

Lateral cold accumulates in gallbladder meridian. As long as the cold invades the human body, this part will not be spared. This part of the cold sometimes forms stripes on the outside of the thigh. Because cold substances will hinder the circulation of meridians, the garbage produced by cells cannot be discharged near the cold accumulation site. If there is too much cold and garbage accumulation, it will make the outer thigh look particularly fat.

Because these wastes are not human tissues, they will flow between tissues. If this person likes sports, the garbage and tissue waste formed by the cold inside the thigh will flow down and accumulate on the calf to form radish legs.

Usually, men are more active than women, so women mostly pile up on the outside of thighs, and men mostly pile up on calves. This phenomenon is the original reason that the coldness mentioned in this book leads to the obstruction of gallbladder meridian, that is, the accumulation of coldness on gallbladder meridian leads to the obstruction of gallbladder function, which in turn leads to the obstacle of absorption.

On the one hand, knocking on the gallbladder meridian can stimulate it and force it to secrete bile; On the other hand, these accumulated wastes can flow and then be discharged from the body.

After the cold enters the body from the human skin, if the cold component is not much, and the blood gas is sufficient and the meridians are smooth, the body will soon transport the cold from the cold part of the epidermis to the drainage channel. The nasal cavity is one of the most important passages, and it will be excreted through one or two sneezes.

If the cold area is large, or the surrounding temperature is very low, a lot of heat is lost, and the body produces a lot of cold (deterioration of body fluids), it is likely that the cold will not be discharged from the body for a while, and symptoms of illness will appear. These symptoms are mainly caused by the phenomenon when the body excretes cold.

At this time, the body must spend a lot of energy to drive away the cold, thus making the human body look very weak. At this time, the best way to deal with it is to rest more and leave all your energy to the body to drive away the cold.

The nasal cavity is the most common outlet of cold air. When a small amount of cold air reaches the nasal cavity, it immediately causes nasal congestion. When you gain weight, the symptoms of sneezing appear; When you gain weight again, you will have symptoms of runny nose. At this time, the runny nose is mostly slightly lower than the body temperature, and it feels cool. Usually the beginning of a runny nose is the end of getting rid of a cold, and it's good to get rid of it.

According to the ancient books of traditional Chinese medicine, cold first accumulates in the subcutaneous meridians, which is called "phlegm" in the book. After a long time, it will be transferred to the corresponding "fu organs". For example, the common "stomach cold" is formed in this way. When this happens, you can directly feel that the temperature of the stomach is extremely low by touching it with your hand, and sometimes the temperature difference with the navel reaches 6 ~ 7.

When the cold stays in the body for a long time, or a large amount of cold invades, it will gradually transfer to the lungs, forming what Chinese medicine calls lung deficiency. The so-called lung deficiency refers to excessive cold in the lungs, which leads to the gradual decline of lung function. In the human body, the lung is not only responsible for the well-known respiratory function, but also the main mechanism for distributing water to all parts of the body.

When cold air invades the lungs, the ability of the lungs decreases, and the ability of the body to absorb and process water also decreases. At this time, most of the water is excreted as soon as it enters the human body. Drinking water feels like going to the toilet, and most of the urine is clear and tasteless. Due to the obstacle of water absorption, the proportion of water in human tissues is getting less and less, the appearance is getting thinner and thinner, and the luster on the skin is getting darker and darker. Usually, when you see Chinese medicine, your face is dull, which is a sign of weak lung qi deficiency. With the gradual weakening of lung qi, the mood will become more and more pessimistic, and it is easy to feel like crying, just like the Chinese medicine book says that "the lung governs sadness."

Strictly speaking, when the cold invades the human body, the human body only changes slowly in appearance, and there are no uncomfortable symptoms or feelings. Most uncomfortable feelings come from the process of driving away the cold. When cold air is discharged from different parts of the body, the symptoms are different, and of course the countermeasures are different. Therefore, after understanding the causes of colds, the most important thing is to learn to correctly handle the symptoms of colds.

When many people catch a cold, they often have symptoms of chills. The cold feels like it comes from the depths of their bodies, and it is useless to cover them with more quilts. Obviously, some parts of the body are in a state of low temperature at this time, but this state will not last long, and usually it will not be cold after a while.

As mentioned above, when the body faces the invasion of cold air, it will produce a chemical reaction, change the chemical composition of body fluids, release heat, and prevent the body from losing temperature. These changed substances, that is, cold, will exist in the body for a long time if they are not discharged. When the physical condition improves and there is enough energy, the body will use the opposite chemical means to reduce cold substances. Because the substance releases heat when it changes, it will naturally absorb a lot of heat from the surrounding when it changes back, so that the temperature of surrounding tissues or body fluids will drop.

When the body discharges these low-temperature body fluids or waste gases, it takes the cold out. So, at this time, you will feel the cold coming from your body, and the tip of your nose feels like ice. It seems that the temperature of a series of tissues connected to the tip of the nose has become lower. When sneezing or coughing, the gas or nasal water exhaled by a cold is in a low temperature state, unlike the hot air exhaled when yawning.

From this inference, it is obvious that the symptoms of a cold are not caused by physical weakness, on the contrary, they will only appear when the body becomes stronger from weakness. Many people who never catch a cold are not really strong, but their bodies have no ability to eliminate any colds, so there are no uncomfortable symptoms. Many people with dark and dry faces and obvious symptoms of lung deficiency have not had a cold experience for many years. This kind of person shows cold body from the external symptoms, but it can't be ruled out.

This kind of person who has no ability to dispel cold can't dispel the cold in the meridians or deep in the lungs no matter what medicine he uses. You must nourish your blood first, let your body have enough energy, and start a war to drive away the cold yourself, so that the cold can be discharged. In this process, the limited medical technology of human beings can only add a small amount of help when the human body finally begins to discharge cold.

So no matter what kind of cold it is, the way to deal with it must return to the way mentioned above to develop good living habits, improve blood gas and correctly handle the symptoms of each disease. There is no shortcut, and there is no panacea.

A cold has many symptoms, including sneezing, runny nose, cough, headache, body aches or soreness, fever, sore throat and so on. Cold air discharged from different depths or parts of the human body will form different symptoms. Therefore, the causes of symptoms and chills can be roughly divided into three categories: chills in the meridians behind the body, chills in the meridians in front of the body, and chills in the lungs.

The meridian behind the body is mainly the bladder meridian. Because the back of the bladder meridian is very large, and it is in the most vulnerable part of the human body, many people catch a lot of colds in this part.

When the bladder is discharged by cold air, the whole shoulder and back will be sore or sore. Because the bladder meridian runs through the whole head, there will be swelling, headache or migraine in the back of the head, dull pain in Tang Yin area near the forehead, and severe pain after massaging Fengchi point behind the ear.

There will also be symptoms of throat discomfort or cough, which are symptoms of cold discharge of bladder meridian. I often feel this way when I have heatstroke in summer. Both of these conditions are symptoms of bladder obstruction behind me.

Scraping is the simplest way to eliminate the symptoms of cold discomfort of bladder meridian, because the back is the main acupoint of bladder meridian, and almost all the left and right sides of the back are the distribution parts of bladder meridian. So as long as you scrape your neck, back and forehead, let the meridians flow smoothly, and sleep after scraping, the uncomfortable feeling will probably disappear.

In addition, when you have a headache at first, you can eat some ginger and then go out to bask in the sun. The so-called sunbathing, you can sunbathe directly in winter and stay in a place with strong light under the shade in summer. Usually the symptoms will go away naturally after half an hour. In addition, a cup of longan and jujube tea and a good sleep can also eliminate some symptoms.

When the cold air in the meridians in front of the human body is discharged, the most typical symptoms are nasal congestion, sneezing, runny nose, and sometimes watery diarrhea. These symptoms are the same as those when cold air is discharged from the lungs. The way to distinguish is to touch the forehead and the tip of the nose with your hands and compare it with the temperature of other parts of the face.

If the forehead temperature is low, these symptoms are the discharge of cold air from the meridians in front of the body, and if the nose tip temperature is low, it is the discharge of cold air from the lungs. The discharge of cold air in meridians will not cause cough and fever, but it is easy to cause cough and fever when the cold air in the lungs is discharged.

The meridians storing cold in front of the body are mainly the stomach meridian and the large intestine meridian. Therefore, while the cold is discharged, the stomach and intestines will also have symptoms of discomfort. The most common thing is flatulence, sometimes I want to eat snacks constantly, but my stool is not smooth, and my cold will soon get better until my stool is smooth. It is the same as eliminating the cold of bladder meridian. At this time, the best strategy is to have a rest, let the body concentrate and expel the cold from the body. You can drink longan jujube tea properly to enhance your energy and help your body eliminate the cold.

The temperature of the tip of the nose becomes lower, which is the most obvious symptom of a cold coming out of the lungs. Usually this low temperature will appear before all kinds of sensory symptoms. Some people's whites will turn pale blue at this time, especially children. When a mother sees a child's eyes turn blue, she should touch the tip of his nose. If it turns cold, she must first prepare for the child to catch a cold.

If the early low temperature lasts for a long time (three days to a week) and symptoms appear again, then the cold must be very serious and it is likely that there will be a persistent high fever. It seems that the human body has been brewing for a long time to drive away the cold, so it is particularly serious. Usually, the stronger the body, the worse the cold, and the worse the cold.

The gas exhaled by a cold and cough is always cool in the lungs. This cough should be a deep breath, not a disease. It is a normal function of the human body and a means to expel the cold hidden in the depths of the lungs.

It is very important to correctly distinguish between "which symptoms are caused by diseases" and "which symptoms are caused by normal functions of the human body". When cough is considered as a normal function of the human body, the purpose is to eliminate the cold in the lungs. In the face of this cough, there is no need to rush to stop it with drugs, but to find ways to improve the body's ability to dispel cold and completely expel the cold from the body.

Traditional folk in China use ginger soup to enhance the body's heat energy, or take more rest, which is advocated by both Chinese and Western medicine. These are all good ways to improve body energy and speed up the elimination of cold. These correct methods sometimes can't weaken the symptoms, and often even aggravate them.

Because after the body's ability is enhanced, it will have more power to eliminate the cold, and the body needs to discharge more garbage, which will of course be more uncomfortable. Although this situation will temporarily appear more serious symptoms, the whole illness time will be shortened and the cold will really be discharged.

Since the harm of cold is so great, it is difficult for everyone to completely avoid the attack of cold. Only by establishing a correct concept in daily life can we minimize the invasion of cold. The following are the main methods to prevent the invasion of cold air.

This is the behavior that many romantic young people like to experience scenes in novels and movies. Because most modern young people stay up late, their blood gas is generally insufficient, and it is not easy for their bodies to drive away the cold of rain invasion immediately, so there will be no symptoms. Most people naively think that their bodies are strong enough to withstand such a little rain. Over time, I don't care about this light rain at all.

In fact, this kind of rain will leave cold on the top of the head and other cold parts of the body. People who often get wet in the rain will mostly produce a thick and soft "fat" on their heads, which is a cold substance. When the body has enough rest, the blood gas will begin to excrete the cold. Because of the long-term accumulation of colds, the body needs to sneeze and have a runny nose to get rid of it. At this time, it will be recognized as allergic rhinitis by doctors because of frequent sneezing and runny nose. Probably because when I was young, I was greedy for a moment of romance, but I spent many years or even most of my life suffering from allergic rhinitis. It's really unwise

Many people are too lazy to blow dry their hair, and some even wrap their washed heads in cloth. These behaviors will cause too much cold to be sucked into the top of the head, which will have the same consequences as getting caught in the rain.

Swimming is a very important sport and hobby of modern people, which is really good for the body, but swimming is also one of the most important ways for cold to enter the body. Just like getting caught in the rain, most of these chills don't react in real time, and most people don't think swimming has anything to do with them. Most people who like swimming often feel very cold as soon as they get out of the water, especially when a gust of wind blows, they can't help shivering. This feeling is the most concrete feeling of cold invading the body.

People who like swimming had better choose a windless indoor heated swimming pool to reduce the chance of catching cold. At the same time, drink a cup of ginger tea before and after each swimming. Enhance the body's ability to resist cold.

As for some people's habit of swimming in winter, it is the stupidest exercise from the perspective of cold protection. There are no animals with similar structures to humans in nature. When God designed the human body, he didn't consider that some people would regard this sport as a hobby, so friends who like this sport had to ask for help.

The advice to these friends is: having no symptoms for the time being does not mean that the cold will not invade the body, and personal willpower can make the human body endure this kind of stimulation. But it can't change the fact that the cold invades the body.
