What is idealism?

Idealism is a philosophical school opposite to materialism; It holds that spirit determines matter and spirit is the essence of the world.

Idealism can be divided into subjective idealism and objective idealism.

Ontology, subjective idealism holds that the world is the product of human subjective consciousness. Objective idealism holds that the world is the product of some kind of "objective spirit".

(2) In terms of epistemology, people's understanding of ideas with subjective idealism is the product of subjective imagination and is inherent in their minds. Confucius advocates that there are saints who are "born to know". According to objective idealism, people's knowledge comes from the revelation of God or "absolute idea" and falls from the sky. Hegel believes that "absolute concept" is externalized into nature and human society, and self-knowledge is re-realized in human beings.
