Why is the name of the temple in Zhao Gou "Gaozong" instead of "Shizu"?

Zhao Jian established the Southern Song Dynasty and continued the foundation of the Song Dynasty. In the long history of thousands of years, its historical position is equivalent to the establishment of Liu Xiu in the Eastern Han Dynasty and Si Marui in the Eastern Jin Dynasty. They are both the continuation of their respective dynasties and the kings of ZTE.

Liu Xiu's temple name is Shizu, Si Marui's temple name is Zhongzong, and Zhao Gou's temple name is Gaozong. It can be seen that the temple names of the kings of ZTE are not necessarily ancestors.

In the history of China, the temples named "Shizu" are: Xun Zi, Liu Xiu, Cao Pi, Sima Yan, Zhang Jun, Fu Jian, Mu Rongchui, Helian Bobo, Liu Jun, Tuoba Tao, Gao Zhan and Chen Gang.

Sai-jo is generally regarded as the pioneer of dynastic history, or the specific temple name of the monarch in this dynasty. Then, naturally, Si Marui and Zhao Gou can also designate temples as "sai-jo". But Si Marui is obviously impossible, because there is already a "sai-jo" in front of this dynasty, and that is Sima Yan. Zhao Gou is different. The temple names before this dynasty were Taizong, Zhenzong, Renzong, Yingzong, Zongshen, Zhezong, Hui Zong and Qinzong. No imperial temple is named "sai-jo", and it is entirely possible to make it a "sai-jo" and an immortal ancestor, but the temple name is "Gao Zong".

An analysis of the reasons why Song Gaozong can only be an "emperor" but not an "ancestor"

First, after the Sui Dynasty, temple names played a decisive role in the emperor's life; "Grandfather" must have pioneering feats, and Song Gaozong and Zhao Gou are only some inheritors of the Northern Song Dynasty.

Second, Song Gaozong Zhao Gou has no children, and his heir to the throne is the grandson of Zhao Kuangyin VII of Song Taizu. Ten generations later, the throne returned to Mao Zhao Kuangyin from Zhao Guangyi, Song Taizong. However, at this time, the blood relationship between Song Xiaozong's heir emperor Zhao Yun and Zhao Gou is still far away. As the emperor who succeeded to the throne, it is impossible to respect Zhao Gou as the "ancestor", and since then, until the demise of the Southern Song Dynasty, the queen has never returned to Zhao Gou, Song Gaozong, and no emperor is willing to change the temple name for him.

Third, Song Gaozong Zhao Gou and Song Xiaozong Zhao Shen, the nominal father and son, have conflicting ruling ideas and a good relationship like family; Yue Fei, who was unjustly killed by Emperor Gaozong, was rehabilitated after Xiao Zhong ascended the throne, and the hawkish minister was once again enabled.
