Are Fan Ceng and Fan Zeng the same person?

Fan Ceng and Fan Zeng are not the same person.

Fan Ceng was born in Nantong, Jiangsu Province. He is a great scholar, thinker, master of Chinese studies, master of painting and calligraphy, writer and poet in China.

Fan Zeng (277 BC-204 BC) lived in the Qiang nationality. In the peasant war at the end of Qin Dynasty, he was the main counselor of Xiang Yu and was honored as the "father of the country" by Xiang Yu. In 206 BC (the first year of Han Dynasty), Fan Zeng followed Xiang Yu into Guanzhong, urging Xiang Yu to destroy Liu Bang's forces, which was not adopted.
