Guo Jia (170 -207) was born in Yangzhai, Yingchuan (now Yuzhou, Henan). China was an important counselor of Cao Cao in the late Eastern Han Dynasty.

When Guo Jia was young, he was ambitious and studied behind closed doors for a long time in order to make friends with people with lofty ideals. In the prime of his life, he worshipped the official and went to Situfu. After Yu Xun's recommendation, he served as a drink offering in Cao Jun. Before the battle of Guandu, he put forward the strategy of pacifying the north to Cao Cao, and strengthened Cao Cao's determination to win. After Guandu's victory, the generals were afraid of Liu Biao's sneak attack. Guo Jia decided that he could only talk about it, but he couldn't worry. In the 12th year of Jian 'an (207), Cao Cao made a plan to attack Wuhuan in the north, which won a great victory. In the same year, Guo Jia died in Yizhou (now Yixian County, Hebei Province) at the age of 38.

Cao Cao deeply regretted Guo Jiazhi's death, saying that "Jia Xun will be remembered for life" and praised him for surpassing his peers in political and military knowledge and being his "amazing assistant".
