Maoshan Taoism is the birthplace of Puritanism School of Taoism in China, the cradle of Maoshan School of Taoism in China, and the resident of temples built by Sanmao Zhenjun. There are many people with lofty ideals in Maoshan in history, especially in the Liu and Song Dynasties.
The predecessor of Maoshan Sect is the Shangqing Sect of Taoism.
