The history of Guandi Temple

In the third year of the Tang Dynasty, Zheng Chen and Chen Yuanguang were ordered to develop southern Fujian, and brought the statue of Guan Yu, which was enshrined in their hometown, to Fujian as the spiritual pillar of the soldiers. Later, in order to celebrate Guan Yu's loyalty, emperors continued to seal, from Hou to Gong and from Wang to Emperor. During Song Xiangfu's reign, Zhao Heng called on the whole world to worship Guan Yu. At that time, Dongshan set up four stores, stationed troops and worshipped Guan Gong. Ming Taizu also ordered all counties in the world to build Wu temples for spring and autumn festivals.

When Tongshan City was built in the 20th year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1387), it was excavated to protect officers and soldiers. The expansion of Mingzhengde was completed in the seventh year (15 12) in the third year. On the stone pillars of the temple hall, the words "Daming Zheng Dewu's appointment" are engraved.
