Ezhou City, Hubei Province has a natural mountain with a long history and many places of interest. It is a rare famous mountain in the south of the Yangtze River and one of the first four scenic spots in Hubei Province. This place is the famous Xishan in Ezhou.

Xishan is located in the south bank of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, which was called Fanshan in ancient times. It is named because it is located in the west of Ezhou City, Hubei Province, the ancient capital of the King of Wu. It is adjacent to the Yangtze River in the north and faces the famous Wenchibi in Huanggang across the river, and its geographical position is very superior. The East Gate is called Truman.

Its main peak, Shimen Mountain, is 170 meters above sea level, with high vegetation coverage, beautiful mountains and beautiful waters and pleasant climate. There are many springs and waterfalls in the mountains, and the meandering water flows very quietly. It has been an excellent tourist attraction since ancient times.

Xishan not only has a beautiful natural environment, but also a large number of places of interest. The landmark Xishan Temple, built in the first year of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, is the birthplace of China Buddhism "Pure Land Sect". The first temple was abandoned for various reasons.

The existing temples were donated by Governor Huguang during Tongzhi period of Qing Dynasty. It is the main building on the western hills. The main halls in the temple are all brick and wood structures, with double eaves and flying pavilions, red rafters and blue tiles, which are exquisite in craftsmanship and magnificent in momentum. This is a solemn and famous ancient temple.

Ezhou, known as Wuchang in ancient times, was the old capital of Wudong during the Three Kingdoms period. After sunrise, Jianye moved its capital here. There is a palace in Xishan for summer vacation, residence and political affairs, which is called Wu Wangxia Palace.

It was damaged several times after the war. Later, Hui Yuan monks took a fancy to this treasure trove of geomantic omen and turned the old base of the Summer Palace into Xishan Temple. In the late 1990s, the Summer Palace of the King of Wu on the top of the chair was relocated and rebuilt, which belonged to the antique building of the Han Dynasty and became a beautiful scenery in the Western Hills.

In addition, there are Song Fengting, Jiuqu Pavilion and other historical sites in Xishan. They are dotted in the green mountains and forests, adding a strong historical and cultural color to the western hills. It is worth mentioning that Xishan Scenic Area is currently open to the public free of charge, which is well worth visiting.

I suggest that if you come to Ezhou, you must climb the western hills and enjoy the natural scenery and places of interest here. Feel the unique beauty of the ancient capital of King Wu.
