Shuangyashan City is located in the hilly area at the northern foot of Wanda Mountains. It is an ancient mountain with gentle slope, low hills, thick soil and mixed broadleaf and coniferous forests. The south of the city is mountainous, and the southwest is about 500 to 600 meters above sea level. Shuangyashan City is located in the humid climate zone in the middle temperate zone. Except Raohe County, which has a semi-continental and semi-marine climate influenced by the Sea of Okhotsk and the Sea of Japan, other cities and counties have a continental monsoon climate. Winter is controlled by the polar continental air mass, and the climate is cold, dry and long; Summer is influenced by the subtropical maritime climate, with warm and rainy climate and concentrated precipitation. The climate in spring and autumn is changeable, and spring is short, fast and windy. Autumn is short, the temperature drops suddenly, and first frost is early.

Mammals in Shuangyashan mainly include Siberian tiger, black bear, red deer, sika deer, roe deer, fox, leopard, lynx, wild boar, badger and ice otter. Most of them are protected animals that are prohibited from hunting by the state and the province. Rodents mainly include muskrat, squirrel, vole, northeast rabbit, grass rabbit, weasel and so on. Amphibians mainly include northeast rain frog, frog, grey chain snake, tiger-spotted snake, yellow-backed snake, black brocade snake, brown black brocade snake and so on. There are more than 70 kinds of birds, such as magpie, crow, wild goose, swallow, big tit, sparrow, suque, woodpecker, mandarin duck, cuckoo, pheasant, lark, wax mouth, blue-spotted, red-spotted, yellow-bellied, owl, bat and wild duck. Fish mainly include carp, crucian carp, Sophora japonica, loach, silver carp, willow root, old fish and so on. Insects include bees, dragonflies, spiders, earthworms, ants, slugs, silkworms, butterflies, horse snakes, centipedes, money fish, burglars and beetles.
