Lixian County belongs to Longnan City, Gansu Province.

Lixian County is a county under the jurisdiction of Longnan City, Gansu Province, which is located in the east of Gansu Province and the upper reaches of the Western Han River. The counties and cities bordering it are Qinzhou District and Xihe County of Tianshui City in the east, Tanchang County and Minxian County of Dingxi City in the west, Wudu District in the south and Wushan County and Gangu County of Tianshui City in the north. It has jurisdiction over 29 township and county governments in Chengguan Town.

Lixian history and culture

Lixian county has a long history, rich cultural landscape and unique tourism characteristics. Lixian County, founded in Chenghua in the Ming Dynasty for nine years, was the birthplace of Qin people in the late Yin and early Zhou Dynasties. The important excavation of pre-Qin culture will attract many tourists to visit ancient times with infinite power.

Although Lixian County was named late, its land development was very early and has a long history. At Yangshao Cultural Site in Gaositou, Shiqiao Township, a human head cover was unearthed in 1964, and a number of stone tools, pottery and bone utensils were unearthed in 1986, which were determined to be used during the clan commune period more than 5,000 years ago. During the Xia and Shang Dynasties, the land belonged to Yongzhou.
