(1) Play with fire in Mid-Autumn Festival:
After the Mid-Autumn Festival dinner in urban and rural areas of Lu 'an, there is a custom of enjoying tea and the moon, and teenagers should enjoy themselves until midnight. In the countryside, there is a custom of playing with a torch. That night, people made torches out of hemp stalks, Artemisia annua and straw. Light them and hold them high. They rushed to the village edge, roads, fields, or played with fire dragons, or danced with fire lions, galloping and jumping, echoing far and near.
"Touching Autumn" is also one of the traditional activities of Mid-Autumn Festival in rural areas. In the evening, people can sneak into vegetable gardens and crops at will and pick melons, peppers, soybeans, corn, cotton and radishes, whether they belong to Zhang Sanjia or Li Sijia. As the saying goes, "Touch the wax gourd to give birth to a boy, touch the loofah to give birth to a girl, and touch the big pepper without hurting your eyes." After that, we should pull out the soybean seeds and burn edamame on the roadside to eat.
Therefore, after the Mid-Autumn Festival, you can often see pools of dust and embers on the roadside and fields in the countryside. On the night of Mid-Autumn Festival, large families in the town also have the pleasure of "walking on the moon". After three strokes on the moon, the gongs and drums went out one after another and walked through the streets in the moonlight. The drums were choking, knocking while walking, and enjoying themselves until late at night.
(2) as a pledge, drink moonlight:
On the fifteenth day of November in the old lunar calendar, there was a custom of "taking wine as the head" and "drinking moonlight" in the urban and rural areas of Shouxian County. According to people's understanding of the law of the moon, it is believed that only 1 1 month 15 in a year, the moon is facing this place and directly shines on people, but there is no shadow on the ground, so it is named "taking the lead".
On this day, elderly people buy wine and sip it in the yard after dark. Some lively people find it boring to sit alone and wait for the moon, so they invite each other: "Let's drink the moonlight." When you come to a street pub and sit down, everyone will chip in to buy wine and order food. This is called "moving stones". While eating wine, chatting about the past and the present, while waiting for the moon to rise to the zenith.
So on this day, the tavern business in Chengguan and rural market towns was particularly good, and it was almost packed. At this time, a bamboo pole has been erected in the yard. At midnight, when the moon is full, people are bathed in the moonlight, and they can't help thinking of that ancient love, chanting poems and talking about the past and the present. He returned to the wine table in high spirits, gambling and often getting drunk.
(3) Cypress Temple Fair:
Bai Shu Temple, located in Pengtai Village, Ji Ye Town, was built in the Sui Dynasty. The temple is dedicated to Shen Yue of Dongyue and the ten palaces, with endless incense for more than 1000 years. From 1997 to 2004, Bai Shu Temple continued to restore the original temple buildings, and built the Ursa Mahayana Hall, which became a tourist attraction integrating religion and tourism.
According to legend, March 28th of the lunar calendar is the day when Dongyue King was born. Burning incense and wishing here on this day is very effective and responsive. Therefore, people come here every year to seek visas, have children and burn incense.
So an annual temple fair was formed near Bai Shu Temple, which not only prospered the folk art in Hubei, Henan and Anhui, promoted the marginal folk trade activities, but also attracted a large number of foreign tourists to visit.
