The Origin of Ouyang Jian's Shen Qiu

Shenqiu was named after the State of Shen in the Zhou Dynasty, meaning the ruins of the State of Shen. Shenqiu county was originally a county under the jurisdiction of Yingzhou (now Fuyang City, Anhui Province), which belongs to Guchengzi, Linquan County, Anhui Province. In the early Ming Dynasty, it was merged into Yingzhou Prefecture and shenqiu county was abolished.

Now it belongs to Zhoukou City, Henan Province, located in the southeast of Henan Province, at the junction of Henan and Anhui. Located in Shui Ying, bordering Xiangcheng in the west and Anhui Jieshou in the east, with a total area of 1080 square kilometers.
