Neil alden armstrong (1August 5-20, 9301February 25) was an American astronaut, test pilot, naval pilot and university professor.

During his service with NASA, Armstrong became the first astronaut to set foot on the moon on July 26th, February1,1969, and the first human member to leave footprints on an alien planet.

His partner, Buzz aldrin, became the second and first person to return safely and set foot on the earth after landing on the moon. They stayed on the surface of the moon for two and a half hours Armstrong's first space mission was Gemini 8, during which he made the first orbital docking with David Scott.
