Wei Zi, like the eight characters, further combined with the fortune-telling invented by Yin-Yang and Five Elements. The inventor is said to be Chen Xiyi in the Song Dynasty. In ancient times, Wei Zidou's book was regarded as "the study of emperors", and there was a "Qin Tianjian" in the palace who studied it specially. People who have access to Wei Zidou's books are limited to officials appointed by the royal family or the emperor. This is why the eight characters are widely spread among Han people, but the number of fights is little known.

Later, as the Kuomintang entered Taiwan Province Province, it took away a large number of famous and rich big noble, including many descendants of the feudal royal family, and books about Wei Zidou also flowed into Taiwan Province Province. Therefore, Taiwan Province Province has produced a large number of experts and scholars who have studied the Book of Wei Zidou, which makes the book of Wei Zidou much more famous in Taiwan Province Province than in Chinese mainland.
