Myrica plants are dioecious, but there are also phenomena that male plants open female flowers, that is, the male flowers open first, and the female inflorescence will be pulled out at the base of the male flowers with growth results after the flowers wither. Although this does not require cross pollination, the fruit yield and quality are not as good as expected. If you want to harvest more sweet bayberry, you'd better plant one on both sides of the yard.

● The flowering and fruiting of Myrica rubra happens to be the rainy season. Too much rain will affect the pollination of flowers, and it is easy to drop flowers and fruits, which will affect the fruit yield. Appropriate measures can be taken to avoid rain. Myrica rubra will not become food for fruit flies until the stone is colored, so it is necessary to cover the stone with a layer of insects and mosquitoes before the stone is colored, which can effectively prevent fruit flies from laying eggs on Myrica rubra and finally become insects, which is what we call white worms on Myrica rubra.
