The Original Text and Appreciation of Donglai Sending the King into China
A sword can be bought for 1000 yuan, but no one has been allowed in this life.
Wan Li, the Huai Army, bid farewell and made friends with courtesy.
Solitary pine should be late, and many trees love Fangchun.
There is no need to make a new avatar.
Chen Ziang is good at five-character poems, and his five-character poems are also excellent. Donglai's undisputed farewell to Wang Jinshi is one of the famous ones. Wang Wujing, a native of Donglai, is a good friend of Chen Ziang. He used to supervise the empire in the temple. He is arrogant and outspoken, and the authorities will not tolerate him. He has been repeatedly belittled. He used to be Sima in Suzhou, later demoted to Guangzhou, and was killed by an enemy.
The first four sentences of the poem say that I have a priceless sword, which has always been treasured as a favorite and never allowed to be borrowed or transferred by others. Now I think that you (referring to Wang Wujing) will be far away from me, so I give it to you to show my deep friendship with my best friend. Here, I use one or two sentences to describe the preciousness of the sword. The first sentence is measured by "thousand dollars", and the second sentence shows the degree of love, highlighting my love and cherish for this sword. The three or four sentences are in sharp contrast, which shows the intimacy between the poet and Wang Youyi, and also shows that Wang is different from ordinary people and is the person he admires. Chen Ziang and Wang Wujing have the same personality. In Ren Xia, they are uninhibited, fearless in power, frank and outspoken, and they are also dissatisfied in politics, which has become the basis of their friendship. As for giving swords, is there any further significance besides expressing friendship? I should say yes. As the old saying goes, it is better to weave a gold hook than to fold a sword straight. It can be seen that the sword is regarded as a symbol of integrity, strength and sharpness. It is in this symbolic sense that poets give swords to friends to praise and encourage them. In addition, Chen Ziang strongly advocated "good luck" in his poetry creation. Although these four poems don't use metaphor literally, the intention of expressing emotion by borrowing things is still obvious.
The phrase "solitary pine should be late" uses the old saying "when cold comes and summer goes, you will know that pine and cypress are withered and late", and uses pine trees as a metaphor for a strong and resolute person with noble moral character who is not bent by power. This refers to Wang Wuji and self-encouragement. Adding the word "lonely" shows that there were not many people in the society who were determined to be noble at that time. The word "Yi" means that pine trees are vigorous and tall only in a cold environment, which means that a person's loyalty is tested after being hit by the dark forces. The original intention of this poem is to comfort a friend and persuade him not to be discouraged by the blow, which shows the author's optimism. This sentence is in sharp contrast to the last one. "Zhongmou" is of course a metaphor for the common people. "Love for Fangchun" means that they follow the trend and covet wealth. This sentence also warns friends from the opposite side not to be bound by secular ideas. These two sentences are about natural phenomena, but they refer to personnel. This metaphor is very appropriate and wonderful.
Seven or eight sentences further encouraged friends, "What should I do now?" "Have" is interpreted as "go". Ask for directions after you leave. The homecoming here refers not to the place, but to the way of life. ) Because it is a poem, not a face-to-face interview, the author immediately raised the hope that "there is no reason to be new" and don't add hair in vain, that is to say, to make a difference. It is really comforting to have sincere words.
Throughout the whole poem, this farewell poem is full of enthusiasm, without sadness and bitterness. Give friends positive encouragement and sincere comfort, and write with dignity and style.
Poets are good at contrasting emotions. He used things to express his feelings and turned his inner feelings into concrete artistic images. In the poem, swords and pines are used to praise the upright and strong character, and "wood" is used to condemn those who advocate glory. These metaphors are very accurate. Especially the first four sentences, although they are telling stories directly, are far-reaching and thought-provoking. This kind of language is unpretentious, which is the style of Chen Ziang's Carved Works (Preface to Chen Boyu's Collected Works by Zhang Yi in Ming Dynasty).
