Because the trunk of Lagerstroemia indica is obviously different from other tree species, that is, the thickness of the root and the top of the trunk is almost the same. Compared with other tree species, Ziwei is more top-heavy. When we gently scratch its branches, the vibration caused by friction is easily transmitted to the top branches and flowers through the hard branches, causing shaking.

Moreover, this kind of shaking will gradually accumulate, and the amplitude will be bigger and bigger, and the phenomenon of "tickling" that we usually see in Wei Zi will appear. At the same time, the phenomenon of "tickling" will also be manifested in other plants whose trees have become "thick at the top and thin at the bottom" after pruning, and the branches of some Lagerstroemia indica trees vary greatly in thickness, so this phenomenon of "tickling" is not obvious.

Growth environment of Lagerstroemia indica

Ziwei likes warm and humid climate, light, a little shade tolerance and fat. It especially likes the deep and fertile sandy loam, which is conducive to being born in a slightly humid place and can resist drought and waterlogging. It is forbidden to plant in places with high groundwater level and low humidity. It is warm, cold-resistant and strong in germination. Lagerstroemia indica also has strong anti-pollution ability and strong resistance to sulfur dioxide, hydrogen fluoride and chlorine.

Lagerstroemia indica is grown or cultivated in Guangdong, Guangxi, Hunan, Fujian, Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Hubei, Henan, Hebei, Shandong, Anhui, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou and Jilin. Semi-shady, like to be born in fertile and humid soil, but also drought-tolerant, calcareous soil and acidic soil grow well. Originated in Asia, it is now widely planted in tropical areas.
