Furong village's Human History

Furong village was founded in the late Tang Dynasty. According to the genealogy of Chen compiled by Hongzhi Ding (1497) in Ming Dynasty, I am also behind the iron tomb of Chen. From Yingchuan to Kaifeng, he lived in Fujian and Zhejiang and moved to Yongjia in the Tang Dynasty. Zhao, a native of Qiantang, and Zhao's grandson, the ancestor of Furong, are over 600 years old. According to another villager's legend, at the end of the Tang Dynasty, Chen's first wife moved from Yongjia North to the deep mountain depression and under Furong Peak to avoid troubled times. I only saw this place: water in front, shamao rock behind, three dragons holding pearls, and four waters returning home. This is a rare land of geomantic omen, so I built a house here to settle down.

At the end of the Southern Song Dynasty, Yuan soldiers went south, and Chen, a villager from furong village, was a scholar in the first year of Xianchun. He responded to Wen Tianxiang's call and led more than 800 celebrities in the village to stay in Furong Peak for three years. In the end, they all died. Chen committed suicide and the village was burned down by the Yuan Army. So when the village was rebuilt in the late Yuan Dynasty and early Ming Dynasty, people merged the original small villages into big villages, built seven gates and two stone walls, and built eight buckets to store water.

The main streets in furong village are different from other ancient villages in nanxi river. Generally speaking, the main street of an ancient village is perpendicular to the entrance of the village, while the main street of furong village turns a corner after entering the door, and its main street is not always at the end. This may be considered from the perspective of geomantic omen. The eastern end of Changtang Street is the first of the seven stars, and the western end was originally one of the eight buckets. Now that the house is built, there is only half a pond left.

Furong village has a long history, and it can also be said that it has experienced many vicissitudes. According to the ten years of Hongzhi in Ming Dynasty (AD 1479) recorded in Chen's Genealogy: "At the end of the Tang Dynasty, in order to avoid troubled times, Mr. and Mrs. Chen moved northward from Yongjia County, along the nanxi river to the deep ravine and to the edge of Furong Peak, only to see that the water here was clear, with shamaoyan behind them, three dragons grabbing pearls and four waters returning to the pond, so they built a house to settle down." Up to now, furong village is still dominated by villagers named Chen.

Furong Pool is located on the south side of Changtang Street, with a length of 43m from east to west and a width of13m from north to south. The swimming pool is not too big, but the Furong Pavilion in Furong Pool is very comfortable. Furong Pavilion is a hilltop building with attic, 4 columns, 12 eaves columns, surrounded by beautiful women. It will be very pleasant if the villagers sit around in the pavilion after sunset in midsummer. If you only look at this waterside pavilion, it is similar to the park, so you can enjoy the cool and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

But after all, this is a village, not a park. Since it is a village, it is impossible to regard the waterside pavilion as a scenic spot, but it also has the function of life. Furong Pavilion is built in the middle of the water, and there are stone bridges connected on both sides, one is Changtang Street and the other is a private house. There are stone steps leading to the water side on the side of the house, and the bottom of the stone steps can wash clothes and vegetables. Not far from the west is Furong Academy. This southern town has a strong cultural atmosphere. There are also academies in such a small village, which can be regarded as a pursuit of culture.

Wandering in furong village, you can experience the quiet and energetic life of a small village. Although the house is old and full of vicissitudes, it can't hide its connotation. History itself is to discard the old and draw a new picture, but the traces of history are deep.
