What is a butterfly?

Butterflies, commonly known as butterflies, are the general names of arthropods, Insecta, Lepidoptera and Humulus. There are about 14000 species in the world, most of which are distributed in America, especially in the Amazon river basin. There are 1200 species in China.

Other names of butterflies: butterfly, Hu Die, floating butterfly, butterfly, etc.

The shape of the butterfly:

1. Butterflies are mostly between 5~ 10 cm, and their bodies can be divided into three parts: head, chest and abdomen.

It contains two pairs of wings and three pairs of feet. There are a pair of hammer-shaped tentacles on the head, with thick ends and wide wings. When you rest, your wings will stand on your back. The scales of its wings are rich in fat and can play a protective role.

3. The antenna of butterfly is rod-shaped, and the end of antenna is thick and rod-shaped.

It has flat scaly hairs on its body and wings, and its abdomen is slender.

5. Its mouthparts are mouthparts; Feet are walking feet; Wings are scale wings; Totally perverted.

6. It has bright colors, many stripes on its body, rich colors, and various spots on its wings and body.

The largest butterfly is the Queen Alexandra Papilio in eastern New Guinea, with a part-of-speech wingspan of 3 1cm. The smallest is the Afghan butterfly, with a wingspan of only 7mm.

Butterfly's habit:

1. Butterflies usually move in the daytime, and they are a group of aquatic insects. Their foraging behavior is the same as their habitat behavior, and they like to forage and inhabit together. Generally, dozens of butterflies will spin silk together to form a web, which can prevent the invasion of natural enemies.

2. The larvae of butterflies often decorate the leaves into nests, which can enhance the concealment, but the ways of decorating the leaves are different, from one leaf to several leaves.

3. Male butterflies will appear earlier than female butterflies. After the female butterfly emerges, she will look for the male butterfly to mate according to the sexual information sent by the male butterfly. Female butterflies have requirements on the pattern and color of male butterflies, and they will choose their favorite males for mating, and the mating external genital structure needs to match.

4. Each larva has different food habits, some eat leaves, some eat buds, and some eat young fruits. Besides these, some Papilionidae eat meat (such as aphids). Its adults mainly eat nectar, and some butterflies only eat one kind of nectar. For example, the blue butterfly only eats nectar from Liliaceae.
