Growth habit

Lilacs are mainly distributed in subtropical subalpine, hillside forest edge from warm temperate zone to temperate zone, undergrowth and sunny shrub in cold temperate zone. Its nature likes sunshine, warmth and humidity, but it avoids waterlogging and is slightly tolerant to shade, drought, cold and pressure. The soil conditions should be loose and barren, and all kinds of soil can grow normally except strongly acidic soil.

It is most suitable for planting in gardens with annual average temperature of 23 ~ 24℃, monthly average maximum temperature of 26 ~ 27℃, monthly average minimum temperature of 16 ~ 19℃, loose and fertile soil and good drainage conditions. Avoid planting in low-lying areas, otherwise it will cause high incidence of diseases and even lead to the death of the whole plant.

If planted in the shade or semi-shade, it will cause slow growth, weakness and scarce flowers. Mature trees like light, and insufficient light affects flowering at this time. 1 ~ 3-year-old young trees prefer shade to strong sunlight, otherwise it is not conducive to the growth of young trees.
