When drawing, you can boldly separate the light and dark sides of the object with carbon strips, and separate the background from the foreground. You don't need to draw details, but first you need a big overall effect and a big composition.

Then use toilet paper to unify the dark side (but don't smooth it, that is, the basic outline should still be there) and smooth the soft background (try not to leave a blank background, even light gray).

Then use plasticine to brighten the penetrating relationship between gray surface, reflective surface, bright part and background light.

As long as the above points are completed, the great effect of a painting will basically come out, which means that the local shaping will be slowly portrayed according to this big tone. Always look at the big effect from a distance, and the parts will be unified in the big effect.

It's very simple, but it took me two years to practice this process before I felt a little ... so, take your time.
