What does gyro mean?

A gyro is a rigid body that rotates at high speed around a fulcrum.

Gyroscope (gyro; Gyro) refers to a symmetrical rigid body with fixed points and rotating around the axis of symmetry at high speed in engineering. Its axis of rotation is called the gyro spindle. Because of the different supporting forms, rigid body shapes and mass distribution, the types of gyroscopes are also different. Gyroscope has some special dynamic characteristics because of its high rotating speed.

brief introduction

Because the gyro has mechanical characteristics such as fixed axis and precession (see gyro mechanics), it can be made into gyroscopes, gyro stabilizers, navigation platforms and other devices used in different engineering and technical fields.

From the mechanical point of view, the significance of gyro is more extensive. The high-speed rotating projectile has no fixed point in flight, but its motion relative to the center of mass is a typical gyro motion, and it depends on the stability of the gyro to avoid somersaults.
