Enamel color

Enamel painting technology of metal tire originated from France in the17th century. During the reign of Kangxi in Qing Dynasty, this handicraft was brought to the official court of China by missionaries.

Kangxi set up enamel color in the interior office and copied the enamel color technology. The imported enamel materials are used for trial firing on carcasses with different textures, such as copper, glass, porcelain and purple sand. The earliest product was painted enamel on copper tire, and Falang colored porcelain creatively applied the enamel color previously decorated on copper tire to porcelain, which is called painted enamel on porcelain tire.

This process began at the end of 17, and was generally ordered by the emperor himself. Jingdezhen Imperial Ware Factory fired plain porcelain and transported it to the official office. Then the enamel work of the manufacturing institute, first introduced "magnetic painters" from Jingdezhen, and then painted and baked by court painters. There are also white porcelain of the previous dynasty, using the old collection of the official residence. Enamel porcelain is small and exquisite, with thin carcass and easy to burn out.

Enamel color has the characteristics of strong color, bright color, opacity and rich layers, and has a strong three-dimensional sense and the texture of oil painting. At that time, it was specially produced for the royal family to enjoy and use, and the quantity was very small, so it was very valuable.

Kangxi enamel porcelain is made of imported enamel materials and decorated on the outer wall of utensils. The pigment is thick, with a convex feeling, and some will have tiny ice cracks. The decoration mostly imitates the enamel color of copper tires, and the themes are mostly yellow, red, blue, bean green, crimson and other colors, and symmetrical flower patterns such as peony, rose, lotus and chrysanthemum are painted.

Some also fill in auspicious words such as "Wan", "Shou" and "Chang" in the flower cores. The painter is solemn and meticulous, and has the effect of decorative patterns. The types of utensils are mainly plates and bowls, and there are few bottles. The interior is white and the glaze layer is uniform. The bottom is generally red or blue "Kangxi Imperial System" four-character Song Dynasty enamel material, plus two frames.

Yongzheng enamel porcelain has made a new breakthrough and development, and the variety of enamel materials is richer than before. Yongzheng enamel porcelain is elegant in style, except for a few that are still lined with colors, most of them are white, such as flowers and birds, bamboo stones, mountains and rivers, etc. They are all popular, with corresponding poems. At the beginning and end of the poem, Zhu Wen and Bai Wen both printed seal characters painted with rouge water or red, which has become an artistic treasure combining porcelain-making technology with poems, books, paintings and printing, just like China's traditional meticulous painting on porcelain.

Yongzheng enamel porcelain is mainly small utensils, mainly plates, bowls, cups, saucers, small handleless wine cups, and a few teapots and bottles. The vessels are exquisitely made, which embodies the elegance of porcelain making in Yongzheng period.

The number and variety of enamel porcelain made by Qianlong surpassed that of Kangxi and Yongzheng dynasties. The process of "rolling" began to appear, that is, the grass lines of phoenix tail were scraped with needle tools on the colored ground outside the decoration; Decorate the mouth edge or pattern of the bottle with gold to add luxurious and rich artistic effect to porcelain; The opening decoration is very popular.

There are bowls, plates, small wine glasses, bowls, bottles, teapots, boxes and so on. There are many styles of Qianlong enamel porcelain, such as four-character song style or two columns or no columns of blue seal script, six-character single-line blue seal script and "Qing Gan Long Year". A few people use the six-character seal script of Jincai Department. The strokes are written on the white background at the bottom or in the blank space of turquoise space.
